[Application of automated image analysis system Allegro-MC for morphometric research].

Automated system of image analysis Allegro-MC is described, including its scheme and concise characteristic. System is used for automated macro- and micromorphometric studies. As the examples for the demonstration of system operation the following micropreparations were used: capillaries of rat uterus, demonstrated by Gomori alkaline phosphatase reaction, cerebral neurons, visualized using NADPH-diaphorase Hope and Vincent method, capillaries as demonstrated by electron microscopy. As a sample of macropreparation, carotid angiogram taken in direct projection, was used. The demonstration is supplemented by vital microscopic study of microvascular reaction in rat small intestinal mesenterium to irradiation with heliumneon laser.

Effect of pollack liver oil on lipid metabolism in rat testes.

Rat testes were examined by biochemical and histochemical methods after 1, 3, 6, and 12-month pollack liver fat-supplemented diet (0.1 g/kg). Phospholipid concentration in the testicular tissue increased by 16% and cholesterol concentrations decreased by almost 20% after feeding fish oil for 1-3 months, while after 6-12-month diet further increase in cholesterol level in the testes and degeneration of some gonadal cells were noted. The most pronounced changes were seen in more differentiated elements of the spermatogenic epithelium in convoluted tubules.

[Local features of temporal organization of tissue mast cells in the dura mater of mature rat brain].

Rhythms of functional activity of mast cells were studied in frontal, parietal and occipital areas of dura mater of mature rats. Chronological organization of mast cells dura mater was established. Circadian component dominated in all rhythms studied. Local peculiarities of mast cells rhythms were established; frontal area cells displayed most significant oscillations per day. They also showed maximum values of average day number and acrophase. Maximum functional activity was demonstrated in mast cells of frontal and parietal region one hour later than in parietal area of dura mater.

[Microcirculatory bed of the rat ovary in health and under laser irradiation].

Ovarian microcirculatory bed was studied using the method of scanning electron microscopy in albino rats during the helium-neon laser irradiation (632.7 nm wave length 0.76) 1 and 60 minutes long. Laser irradiation causes significant reorganization in the intraovarian vascular bed: capillaries become tortuous, relative section area, occupied by microvessels, grows significantly. Irradiation, elongated up to 60 min leads to stable increase of capillary diameter and appearance of pulsions along the capillary course.

[The histochemical characteristics of the capillaries in the mammalian endometrium].

Histochemical methods (alkaline phosphatase, magnesium dependent adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase) and butyryl cholinesterase) revealed specific differences in the uterine endometrium capillary bed organization. The most informative values of capillary specific differences are indexes of alkaline phosphatase and magnesium dependent ATPase activity along with the microvessels total length. This demonstrates the peculiarities of transcapillary exchange in human and in animals studied.

[The effect of low-intensity laser radiation on rat brain capillaries].

The dose-dependent action of the low-intensive He-Ne laser on the capillaries of the temporal area of the brain which were revealed by Mg ATPase has been determined. Laser radiation during 0.5-15 min provoked a complex of the activity of the enzymes in the vessels with density latent action of the factor. Subsequent increasing of the exposition (from 30 min to hours) bring to the opposite effect.

[Biomicroscopy of the peritoneal tissue basophils in rats irradiated with a helium-neon laser].

Tissue basophils (T Bs) of peritoneal fluid in rats were put into a glass chamber, stained with 0.05% solution of methylene blue and examined under a microscope through out the optical axis of which a laser beam was passed (L = 632.8 nm, output power was 0.76 mW). Investigations were carried out in a regimen of continuous monitoring of single T Bs for 20 minute irradiation of cells. Dose-dependent changes in T Bs structure associated with a decrease of cellular secretory activity were observed. On minute 1, degranulation was seen in a regime of a single elimination of granules. On minute 10, mass processes of degranulation, enlightenment and decrease of metachromasia of granules due to their proteolysis were shown as well. Cells sizes were increased. If a laser beam is on a distance from 5 min to 50 min from T Bs similar changes in T Bs structure were observed but first of all they were seen on the irradiated side of a cell, and these changes were shown to be delayed proportionally to an increase of a distance between cell and laser beam.

[The histochemical characteristics of the capillary bed of the brain in exposure to low-intensity laser radiation].

Rat brain was exposed to He-Ne laser at wavelength 632.8 nm, power density 0.76 mWt/cm2. Hippocampal capillaries detected by alkaline phosphatase were examined in various periods (from 1 sec to 3 h) after the exposure. Changes of the enzyme activity in capillary walls, capillary length and diameter were examined after laser exposures of various duration. Enzymic activity and total capillary length were found to increase within the first 15 min of irradiation by 1.5-2 times. A longer irradiation resulted in reduction of these parameters. Capillary diameter changed negligibly after 15-min exposure, and after a longer irradiation a stable dilatation of capillaries was observed.

[Biological rhythms of tissue basophils of the dura mater of rats under the effects of noise-vibration].

The biorhythmologic changes of tissue basophils (mast cells) have been investigated of mater rats in frontal, temporal and occipital regions of dura mater during the noise-vibration stress. Local differences were found in biorythmological characteristics of tissue basophils before and after vibration. The investigated regions of dura mater after noise-vibration stress the magnitude of harmonics, mesor and the amplitude of fluctuations increased greatly. But, judging by their values, in the temporal region the rhythm stability was lower than that in the frontal and occipital. The tissue basophils of various regions of dura mater react in a different way to the noise-vibration stress.

[The microcirculatory bed of the normal rat uterus and in exposure to laser radiation].

By means of scanning electron microscopy of corrosive casts angioarchitectonics of mucous and muscular membranes of the white rat uterus has been studied at diestrus phase, normal and under influence of laser irradiation with exposition of 1 min and 1 h. The morphometric investigation performed has proved presence of local peculiarities in organization of the uterine capillary bed. After irradiation for 1 min a noticeable increase in transversal diameter and capillary density is observed, numerous protrusions appear on their walls. When irradiation lasts for 1 h a relative loose of the uterine capillary network is observed, which is especially manifested in endometrium: capillaries demonstrate an increased convolution and decreased diameter.

[Changes in the neural apparatus of the cerebral arteries in atherosclerosis].

Nervous apparatus of the brain arteries (450-60 microns in diameter) in 55-64-year-old patients with cerebral atherosclerosis was studied. Alterations in the afferent innervation were manifested in the increased sinuosity of fibers, areas of hyper- and hypoimpregnation, appearance of thickenings in the fibers. Changes in the vasomotor innervation consisted of the disturbances of the nerve network structure, an increase of nerve fibers concentration and varicosity in the cholinergic plexuses and their decrease in the adrenergic ones. Restructurings of the nerve apparatus were more pronounced in the arteries of large caliber.

[Innervation of human pia mater arteries of different diameters in arteriosclerosis].

Scanning electron microscopy, impregnation, histochemical methods with acetylcholine esterase (AChE), choline acetyltransferase and glyoxylic acid were used for studying elements of afferent and efferent (+ adrenergic and cholinergic) innervation of pial arteries 450-60 microns in diameter in persons with "preclinical" atherosclerosis. Marked changes of the nervous system were found in arteries of large calibre. Disorders were seen in afferent innervation with increased crimp in nervous fibers, alternate patches of hypo- and hyperimpregnation, thickening with a high AChE activity, reactive changes in receptors. The structure of choline- and adrenergic nervous plexuses was disordered; the concentration of nervous fibers and varicosities in particular in fluorescent plexuses was decreased, with a moderate increase in the concentration of these structures being seen in cholinergic plexuses.
