Salivary lithotripsy may be performed with lithotriptors used for crushing urinary concrements. In some cases the method helps escape removal of the salivary gland if the stone is localized inside the gland. Further modifications of the method are needed.

Forty-five patients with duodenogastric reflux and defective gastroduodenal motor tonicity (gastroduodenal hypotonia, duodenal hypertension, gastric hypotonia in combination with duodenal hypertension) were exposed to He--Ne laser radiation. The impact was focused on the biologically active points G14, TR5, VC15, E21. The treatment resulted in normalization of the gastrointestinal pressure gradient, in discontinuance or reduction of duodenogastric reflux.
The nature of night sleep was studied in oncogynecological patients 60 to 75 years of age and in practically healthy females and males according to the findings of electroencephalography and electromyography of the forehead muscles. The EEG and EMG were recorded in a automatic regimen (EEG according to frequency and amplitude) every 3 seconds on a Datex computer, apparatus ABM. The examination was conducted in an isolated room. Patients with oncogynecological diseases were troubled by marked disorders of night sleep: they could not fall asleep for a long time, the first fast sleep occurred earlier than in healthy individuals, the desynchronization periods were more frequent than in healthy individuals. After a course of electrostimulation, daily for 40-60 minutes with an A-500-01 apparatus (high-frequency currents, modulated by low frequency, output 77 cyclec per sec. and 500 mA) the character of night sleep in oncogynecological patients improved noticeably both according to subjective evaluation and EEG and EMG characteristics. It is assumed that night sleep improves due to changed interrelation of the central nervous system mediators. The authors come to the conclusion that inclusion of a course of electrostimulation in preoperative management is expedient.

Thermoregulation of 15-16 aged young girls (76 persons) studying electrotechnical professions was investigated. Spring strain of thermoregulation was noted. This data may be used in the professional adaptation and hygienic standardization of educational process.
Ninety-eight patients were exposed to low-energy laser irradiation. Of these 52 and 31 had duodenal ulcer in aggravation phase with mucosal erosion and without it, respectively, 15 patients developed isolated erosive lesions of gastroduodenal mucosa. The energy was delivered to the target cites optically using fiber optics endoscope. Microcirculation was studied by bulbar biomicroscopy. Therapeutic response in the laser utilization proved positive being the highest for patients with a short disease history, moderate signs, small-size lesions. Normal microcirculation was not achieved though there was a trend to its improvement.
The examination of 68 patients with biliary dysfunction determined hypokinesia of the gallbladder in 40, sphincter of Oddi spasm in 15 and combination of the two conditions in 13 patients. Blood biochemical indices showed no differences in patients with biliary dyskinesia compared to normal subjects except for alkaline phosphatase levels elevated in 35.3% of patients. This suggests the development of biliary hypertension and cholestasis. All the patients demonstrated disturbed colloid stability of the bile, in those with combined dyskinesia it became lithogenic. Helium-neon and semiconductor laser radiation of biologically active points and the hepatic region, respectively, improved the patients' performance status. The pain and dyspepsia discontinued. The function of the gallbladder and sphincter of Oddi recovered. Positive changes occurred in the blood and bile biochemistry. Laser therapy promoted bilirubin and bile cholesterol decrease. Cholic acid concentration grew, lithogenic characteristics of the bile returned to normal. It is inferred that laser therapy of biliary dyskinesia proved effective.
The authors report the results of experiments and of multiple-modality treatment of gastroduodenal ulcers with the use of local inhibitors of proteolysis, with contrykal among other drugs. Experimental ulcers have been induced in rats according to Okabe. Eighty-three patients have been treated with the suggested schemes. The activities of lysosomal proteinases have been studied both experimentally and clinically. Local injections of contrykal into the ulcer had inhibited proteinase activity and had a positive therapeutic effect.
