[Clinical characteristics of acute appendicitis in the middle-aged and elderly].
On the basis of analysis of the clinical picture of acute appendicitis in 140 patients older than 60 and the same amount of patients aged from 20 to 40 it has been established that the clinical course of the disease has no pronounced peculiarities. The authors believe that for solving the surgical questions in elderly and senile patients the same methods as those used for the treatment of patients of the middle age should be used.
