[Structural and functional response of lymph node to sciatic nerve compression in combination with lymphotropic correction and without it].

Morpho-functional state of lymph node (LN) after the sciatic nerve compression was studied experimentally in rats and the application of lymphotropic drugs was substantiated. Sciatic nerve compression resulted in the changes of the relative area, occupied by structures of LN and in formation of definite cortico-medullary ratio. With the increase of duration of postcompression period, the stable augmentation of the dimensions of a thymus-dependent zone was found in combination with the prevalence of a thymus-independent zone, which is indicative of the mixed variant of immune response to sciatic nerve compression. Application of lymphotropic drugs (lymphotropic injections, "Phytopan" biologically active additive) was shown to change LN structural response to sciatic nerve compression. The degree of response of various structures of a denervated LN, found in rats receiving the drugs, was different as compared with that one in untreated animals, and was characterized by an inverse mode of reaction of LN T- and B-dependent zones. The results obtained emphasize the necessity of taking into account the state of LN in pathology of peripheral nervous system.

[Energy metabolism of blood lymphocytes after insertion of titanium implants].

Blood lymphocyte dehydrogenase activity (SDH, LDH, mitochondrial and cytoplasmic alpha-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase, NADH-diaphorase) was studied in 140 Wistar rats at different time intervals following intraosseous insertion of titanium implants. It was shown that implantation was accompanied with an increase in enzyme activities indicating a rise in the intensity of energy production processes. Cytochemical analysis of lymphocyte enzymes enables to formulate a "prognostic scenario" describing titanium implant interaction with biological environmental factors and organism tissues to assess the long-term results of implantation.

[Comparative characteristics of microanatomical organization of regional lymph node following the insertion of implants made of different alloys].

The regularities of morphologic transformation of the cervical superficial lymph node were studied following the insertion of implants into mandibular pars alveolaris in the region of molar teeth. Cobalt-chromic alloy, titanium and titanium nickelide were used as implantation materials. The implantation material composition was found to define the character of reactive structural transformations of the lymph node. The insertion of implants made of cobalt-chromic and titanium nickelide alloys resulted in the increase of the total area of lymph node and of its components. Titanium implants were shown to cause the reorganization of internal structure of the lymph node without the alterations of its total area. It is concluded that titanium containing alloys are preferable for implantation.

[Changes in the lymph nodes of rats under the influence of natural sorbents in damaging exposure to carbophos].

The experiment was performed in male Wistar rats to study the influence of natural sorbents (Tyumen diatomites and Novosibirsk kudurites) administered with food at dose 6% of its dry weight on lymph nodes. The data obtained demonstrated that addition of natural sorbents to food does not exert pathological influence on lymph nodes of experimental animals. Sorbent diet affects follicular and paracortical lymph node structures, changing their sizes and cytological composition; natural sorbents increase immune potential which is realized after the impairing action.

Distribution of colloidal gold tracer within rat parasternal lymph nodes after intrapleural injection.

BACKGROUND: Tracer studies are an important tool to obtain information about the processes involved in the immunological response. Colloidal gold is widely used as a tracer, but its small size of label can cause some difficulty during low-resolution analysis. To overcome this difficulty, we developed a new method to follow the route of tracer movement within lymph nodes. METHODS: We applied conventional X-ray analysis, X-ray fluorescence analysis (XFA) subtractional microscopy using synchrotron radiation (SR) beams, light microscopy, and ultrastructural analysis to study the distribution and quantity of colloidal gold coupled with albumin within rat parasternal lymph node 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 h after intrapleural injection of the tracer. RESULTS: At all the time points XFA-SR revealed that tracer formed a circle with a maximum concentration in the node periphery. XFA-SR measured colloidal gold concentration in the nodes reached its maximum (0.5-0.75 weight %) in 6-8 h. Subtractional microscopy revealed superficially located groups of cells filled with colloidal gold tracer. Light microscopy and ultrastructural analysis confirmed that the tracer was concentrated in the reticular cells, situated in the sinuses of the node. Sinusoidal reticular cells concentrated tracer at much higher rates than sinusoidal macrophages. Four hours after injection, gold appeared in the lysosomes of the follicular reticular cells. At the same time point, evidence of antigen presentation was obtained. Antigen presentation proved to be an extremely rara event since only one ultrastructural incident was found in 150 analysed grids. CONCLUSIONS: SR is a valuable tool for the analysis of gold tracer passage within the living organism.

[Morphokinetics of lymph node structures in subextreme and extreme conditions].

Morphodynamics of the rat popliteal lymph node structures has a variously directed character in Siberia and Antarctic. Reorganization of the lymph node in Siberia is accompanied with increase of the medulla and in Antarctic--of the cortex. The dynamics of certain constructive changes in the node depends on circulation of lymphocytes. They migrate along the vector of the direction and determine the type of the lymph node and its functional state depending on condition of the environment.

[Angio-protective effect of catergen in experimental liver injury].

The 120 male rats were exposed to CCl4(1 mg/kg) or ethanol (6 g/kg) to produce acute liver injury. Previous injection of cathergen (+)-cyanidonol-3) decreased the region of hepatocytes necrosis, stabilized microvessels diameter and increased muss cells degranulation. These results indicate hepatoprotective and angioprotective effect of cathergen, more expressed in exposure CCl4.

[Hemo- and lymphomicrocirculatory bed of the broad ligament of the uterus in the presence of collateral circulation].

Structural adaptation of the vascular bed in the broad ligament of the dog uterus has been studied at various time of the experimental phlebohypertension. Restitution of the circulation after the posterior vena cava occulsion occurs phasically. The venous collateralies are not formed at one time and it is connected with the venous pressure level in the inferiocaval system and with some changes in the construction of the microcirculatory bed. Basing on the morphometry data, a general equation has been derived which reflects dynamics of the microangiological parameters and demonstrates unidirectionness of the adaptive reactions in the vascular bed at the disturbed venous circulation. Using principles of the system-structural analysis and the mathematical graph theory, we consider the microcirculatory system of the broad ligament of the uterus as a graph-system and study the reorganization of the microcirculatory network at a venous congestion. Realization of the compensatory possibilities is reached in the microcirculatory bed by a changed relationships in the number of the intervascular connections. The latter are estimated according to the graph-schemes of the microvascular bed. Morphokinetics of the connections between the vessels is characterized by widening or narrowing the borders of the "adaptive norm" and by changing the microangioarchitectonics. At the same time, there is noted formation of specialized microhemoangioconstructions. Morphofunctional state of the lymphatic system is connected with reorganization of the angioarchitectonics. This is certain manifestation of the law of the lymphatic and blood beds "synergism". Thus, the structural changes of the vascular bed are aimed to support a certain hemodynamic level.

[Changes in the rate of lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase reaction and lipid indicators of serum under the effect of cathergene in acute experimental liver damage].

Fractional and molar rates of lecithin:cholesterol aminotransferase (LCAT)-catalyzed reaction were decreased, while free cholesterol fraction was increased in blood serum of rats within 24 hrs after single administration of CCl4 I mg/kg. Cathergene, contributing to a decrease in hepatocyte necrosis, affected positively the blood lipid spectrum in CCl4 treated rats. The cathergene protective effect, observed also after acute ethanol poisoning (6 g/kg), involved an increase by about 30% of the fractional and molar rates of LCAT-reactions; it also normalized the cholesterol esterification coefficient in blood serum. The drug did not prevent the postalcohol dystrophy of hepatocytes, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia.
