[The effect of the intranigral use of the delta sleep-inducing peptide and its analogs on the motor and seizure activities of rats].

The effects of delta-sleep inducing peptide (DSIP) and its analogues (1-4) administered into substantia nigra pars reticulata on locomotor and seizure activity were estimated in experiments in rats. It was shown that intranigral microinjection of DSIP as well as DSIP-1-DSIP-4 caused decreasing of horizontal, vertical locomotor activity and attendance of central sectors of the "open field". Antiseizure effects, i.e. the first and clonic-tonic picrotoxin-induced convulsive latent period lengthening and their intensity decreasing, revealed DSIP, DSIP-2 and DSIP-3. Authors suppose that changes of DSIP structure lead to changes of effects expression on locomotor and seizure activity in conditions of their administration into substantia nigra reticulata. Obtained data concerning protective effects of studied peptides on experimental seizure syndrome allow to conclude that there is interaction between DSIP-induced hypokinesia and DSIP analogues anticonvulsive effectiveness in case of their intranigral administration which is likelihood is one of the component of nigral-dependent seizure-suppressive mechanism.

Application of short-wave therapy in complex treatment for endometrial cancer.

The dynamics of the cellular immunity indices have been studied in 81 patients with endometrial cancer, during the period of combined surgery and post-operative gamma-therapy and also during short-wave therapy. The results obtained testify to the immunostimulating and immunomodulating effect of electromagnetic irradiation of short-wave frequency, thus providing rehabilitation of the immune system in endometrial cancer patients and serving as the basis for short-wave therapy, including it in the complex of therapies given to this group of patients.

Norcolut with immune modulators in the complex treatment for hyperplastic uterine processes.

The results are presented of the treatment of 55 patients for hyperplastic endometrial processes with the preparation norcolut combined with the immune modulators thymalinum and myelopidum. It was found that the application of the suggested schemes of the introduction of the medicines mentioned increase the treatment effectiveness and enlarges its possibilities.

[Changes in the indices of the immune and protease inhibitor systems in physiological pregnancy].

Studies of the immune and enzymic homeostasis in 26 healthy nonpregnant women and in 30 healthy pregnant women in the course of pregnancy and on days 2-3 after normal labor have revealed that the T immunity system was liable to changes over the course of pregnancy to a greater measure than the B system. A significant elevation of the neutral proteinase activity and slight fluctuations in acid proteinase activities were seen in pregnant women as against nonpregnant ones. Immunoglobulins A, M, G, circulating immune complexes levels and elastase activity and the total activity of antiproteinases were virtually unchanged in pregnancy.

[The role of the system of proteolytic enzymes and their inhibitors in the pathogenesis of ovarian tumors in Wistar rats and the possibilities for correcting the disorders detected].

The system of proteolytic enzymes and their inhibitors was studied in tissues of ovarian tumours of Wistar rats. It has been revealed that activation of proteolysis enzymes is observed in the genesis of tumour growth against a background of the absence of protease inhibitors. The correction of revealed disturbances by introducing the inhibitors of proteolytic enzymes and hormone preparations has shown that contrical and norcolute are the most effective. The results obtained suggest the further search of preparation normalizing the condition of the given system.

[Clinico-enzymologic parallels in patients of reproductive age with benign epithelial ovarian tumors].

Proteolytic enzymes and their inhibitors have been assayed in sera of 120 patients with benign epithelial ovarian tumors during preoperative menstrual cycles and in 3 years following surgery. The patients showed imbalances in protease inhibitors which failed to be improved by the operative treatment in a proportion of patients. Follow-up of this patient population is recommendable. A serum elastase test was proposed to predict benign epithelial ovarian tumors.

[Effect of thymalin on the immunological indices and morphofunctional structure of the uterus in guinea pigs with endometrial hyperplasia].

The efficiency of usage of the preparations of thymalin in hyperplasia of endometrium has been studied in the experiment on 125 female guinea pigs. Indicated pathology was caused by the introduction of oil solution of synestrol during 19 weeks. It is determined that marked hyperplasia of endometrium is developing as a result of prolonged introduction of synestrol in experimental animals and the decrease of the amount of T- and B-lymphocytes takes place. The use of thymalin results in normalization of indexes of immune system and in partial normalization of morphologic structure of endometrium.

[Histological and cytological characteristics of structural changes of the endometrium of guinea pigs in health and in experimental glandular hyperplasia].

An experiment on 203 guinea-pigs involved morphometric and cytological evaluation of morphofunctional profile of the endometrium and vaginal epithelium at various stages of the estrous cycle and endometrial glandular hyperplasia development. The results permitted the authors to establish morphometric and cytological criteria of estrogenic saturation of the organism, to reveal features of hyperplasia in paired and unpaired uterine parts in experimental exogenic hyperestrogenism. There appeared a correlation between variations in the cytological indices of the vaginal smear and the severity of endometrial hyperplastic process. The tendencies observed for quantitative indices warrant intravital evaluation of the formation of the experimental glandular endometrial hyperplasia and objective assessment of the test treatments.

[Effect of tilorone on the immunological indices of guinea pigs with synestrol-induced glandular hyperplasia of the endometrium].

The immune system state was studied before and after administration of tilorone (an immunologic adjuvant) to guinea pigs with synestrol-induced glandular hyperplasia of endometrium. The total amount of T- and B-lymphocytes. T-lymphocytes with receptors to the Fc-fragment of IgM and IgG, the content of immune complexes were determined. Immune and nonimmune adherence of neutrophils was investigated as well. It was established that the total amount of T-lymphocytes decreased and the quantity of T-lymphocytes and immune complexes increased with the development of glandular hyperplasia of the endometrium. The tilorone administration normalized the structure of endometrium and T-lymphocyte immune controlling system.

[Evaluation of the local effect of cryosurgery in recurrent endometrial hyperplasia].

A complex examination of the endometrium by cytomorphological methods, including impulse cytophotometry, radiometric monitoring and blood plasma-estradiol measurements was carried out in patients aged 41-54, to ascertain the local effect of cryosurgery performed for recurrent endometrial hyperplasia. The study was conducted in perimenopausal patients before and 4 months after cryosurgery. The results confirmed the high local effect of the treatment and showed DNA-histograms of the endometrium to provide a means of objective monitoring of treatment effectiveness.
