[Treatment of patients with genital endometriosis and nephroptosis].

The authors analyze the results of multiple-modality treatment of 31 patients suffering from genital endometriosis combined with nephroptosis. Nephropexy with a muscular flap was carried out in all the cases, followed by therapy for genital endometriosis, including hormones, immunomodulators, performed physical factors, hyperbaric oxygenation, etc. Late results were followed up for up to 3 years. The results were found satisfactory, no nephroptosis recurrences were recorded. The authors have arrived at a conclusion on the usefulness of starting the treatment of this patient population by nephropexy.

[Clinical course and surgical treatment of intestinal endometriosis].

The article presents clinical characteristics of the disease and an analysis of results of treatment of 33 patients with endometriosis of the colon. Ways of spreading endometriosis resulting in alteration of the intestine are shown such as the invasive, implantational and metastatic ways. Resection of the intestine wall with anastomosis in 3/4 after Melnikov was fulfilled in 15 patients with endometriosis of the sigmoid and superampullar portion of the large intestine. Low frontal resection with the formation of compression anastomosis with the help of a native device AKA-2 was performed in 18 patients with the alteration of the rectum. Reinforcing hormone therapy is recommended to all the patients in the postoperative period.

[Increased sensitivity to drugs and endometriosis].

Increasing incidence of predominantly polyvalent drug allergy was demonstrated in patients with endometriosis as an obstacle to their purposive treatment. For this reason, a system of measures aiming to prevent allergic and pseudoallergic reactions has been developed with respect to pathogenetic mechanisms involved, to be used in conjunction with conservative treatment, general anesthesia for surgical interventions and roentgenocontrast investigation in patients with endometriosis and polyvalent hypersensitivity to medication.

[Endometriosis and cancer].

Such features as single-phase cycling, endocrine infertility, endometriosis concomitant endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial carcinoma and endometriosis with concomitant uterine myoma and proliferative processes in the mammary glands as well as hormono-metabolic disorders frequently occur both in endometriosis and endometrial carcinoma and, therefore, suggest that pathogenesis of these hormone-dependent diseases has something in common. It was established experimentally that the likelihood of proliferation development and malignancy in the endometrium is great, when it is dislocated and, particularly, when hormonal disorders occur. An autoimmune nature of endometriosis is suggested. The similarity and differences in diagnosis of endometriosis and some types of cancer as well as common principles of treatment of the diseases are discussed. It is recommended in conclusion that patients with endometriosis of the uterus, ovary and other sites should be referred to a group at high risk for cancer.

[Neurological disorders in endometriosis].

A long-term study of 324 females with endometriosis aged 20--52 years permitted to systematize some syndromes of neurological disorders, depending upon the localization and stage in the progress of endometriosis. In an active infiltrating extension of endometrioid heterotopy there prevail syndromes of peripheral nervous structure lesions. In the late period pseudoneurotic disorders are encountered. The main principles of treatment are discussed.
