[Postoperative suppurative complications and immune status in the surgical treatment of rectal neoplasms].

The authors studied the course of the disease in the postoperative period in 308 patients with carcinoma of the rectum. The literature data and personal experience made it possible to reveal the high frequency of purulent complications among this category of patients. In view of this, the values of humoral and cellular metabolism were studied in some patients with uncomplicated forms of rectal carcinoma. Special attention was given for the first time to the peculiarities of local defence reactions of the peritoneum.

[Effects of antioxidant emoxipin on lipid metabolism in the lungs during development of pulmonary edema].

Trials in white rats have shown, that intravenous injection of pituitrin (10 U/kg), challenging marked pulmonary edema, resulted in decrease of general lipids in them, as well as cholesterol, phospholipids and free fatty acids with accumulation of lipid peroxidation (LP) products. Preliminary administration of antioxidant emoxipin prevented the decrease in the level of general lipids, phospholipids and fatty acids, promoted a further decrease in cholesterol concentration in them and strongly inhibited lipid peroxidation processes. All this was combined with the development of more pronounced pulmonary edema. Intratracheal administration of a strong inductor of LP--Butyl hydroperoxide has never resulted in the development of pulmonary edema in white rats. These and earlier obtained data ground the statement, that LP--products are not pathogenic in the development of pulmonary edema. Inhibition of their formation may increase its development due to intensification of the signal from the receptor towards intracellular effector systems.

[Effects of obsidan on the development of pulmonary edema and hemodynamics of the lesser circulation after administration of noradrenaline].

In experiments on white rats, guinea pigs and cats it was shown that preliminary infusion of propranolol sharply increases the edemagenous lungs sensitiveness to the infusion of exogenous norepinephrine of white rats and guinea pigs. The infusion of the propranolol to cats leads to a decrease of volume blood flow velocity in the pulmonary artery with the simultaneous difficulty of the outflow in pulmonary veins and to increase of hydrostatic pressure in the lesser circulation. The infusion on that background of epinephrine called the development of temporary sharp hearts failure with the sharp increase of the pressure in pulmonary artery (to 196%) and systemic pressure.

[Effects of phospholipase A2 on the etiology of pulmonary edema hemodynamics of lesser circulation in intact and vagotomized animals].

In experiments on white rats, guinea pigs and cats it was shown that intravenous infusion of phospholipase A2 (FLA2) caused the development of pulmonary edema (PE) in guinea pigs, but did not cause it in rats and cats. Bilateral vagotomy on the neck led to the appearance of the expressed edemogenous effect of FLA2 on the lungs. Pentobarbital anesthesia decreased the effect of vagotomy. This effect is not connected with the turn off of the efferent impulsation in vagus nerves as the infusion of atropine did not repeat the influence of vagotomy. Authors assume that the action of FLA2 is realized across the secretion of humoral factor in vagotomized animals and the increase of the permeability of the aero-hematic barrier.

[Effects of a membrane modulator derived from 3-hydroxypyridine class on the development of pulmonary edema].

The experiment on white rats has revealed that water-soluble antioxidant-emoxipin, having obvious membrane modulating effect, does not influence the rate of watering and congestion of the lungs, the speed of reabsorption of fluid from lung tissue, the permeability of the capillary-alveolar barrier both in the blood-tissue direction and vice versa. Preliminary introduction of emoxipin increased the amount of edema fluid in the lungs when noradrenaline, centrogenic and especially vasopressin pulmonary edema developed, but in did not influence the development of vagotomic pulmonary edema. Stimulation of adenylcyclase or introduction of prostacyclin slowed down the development of centrogenic and vasopressin edema of the lungs. On the basis of these data it can be concluded that the intensification of pulmonary edema after emoxipin introduction is connected with its antioxidant activity.

[Comparative study of mouse teratoids developed from blastocysts and embryos at the three germ layer stage].

Germs of three stages: blasocyst, three layer germ cylinder, as well as head-fold and neural plate were implanted under the testicular capsule of mice, CBAXC57Bl line. Teratoids developed at the place of implantation are represented by the derivatives of all germ layers, as well as by some organic structures. The method for an experimental production of teratoids by means of transplantation of developing embryos is discussed as one of the methods for experimental histology. At the same time, possible tissue determination in embryos which do not undergo normal gastrulation is considered.
