["Slukh-3"--an expert system for the individual selection of hearing aids].

Herein is described the algorithm of an expert system intended for the individual choice of hearing aids, based on SM-4 computer. The audiometric data and hearing aids bank information allow to select for each patient the most preferable unit, regarded as suitable from the view of speech distinction. Moreover, with the help of this system it is possible to identify the most preferable way for manufacturing the audition prosthetic appliance (mono-or binaural) and to get recommendations for manufacturing prosthetic appliances for each ear individually; and for mono-aural prosthetic manufacturing--to identify the best version of the prosthesis for each ear individually. This system is most effective for the manufacture of audition prosthetic appliances for people with defective hearing.

[An automated system for evaluating the state of peripheral hemodynamics].

A four-channel automated system based on the microelectronic computer "Elektronika-60M" for investigation of human peripheral hemodynamics is described. The block diagram of algorithm of the automated system operation is adduced, search algorithm of characteristic points is described in detail, the fundamental correlations are presented.

[Methods of recording threshold auditory evoked potentials].

Presented in the paper are the technique and the device for detecting thresholds of auditory evoked potential (AEP) in the course of objective audiometry. The device reduces basic EEG components in the combined signal thereby increasing AEP-to-EEG ratio. As a result, AEP thresholds can be more effectively detected and measured.

[Automated system for individual selection of hearing aids].

The automated system based on the computer CM-4 and the algorithm for selecting hearing aids are described. From the audiometry data (a hearing threshold, discomfort, etc.) the acoustic characteristics of hearing aids are calculated allowing a low hearing person to improve the speech perception. Then, according to the developed fitting criteria the system selects the required hearing aid from the available set (acoustic characteristics are preliminary loaded into the computer memory). Consequently, an audiologist has the important information on the most adequate hearing aid for a patient along with the data on the unit operating modes and the validate compliance between the rated and computed values. The high efficiency of the system has been demonstrated while selecting hearing aids for low hearing persons in clinical practice, the selection time being considerably reduced.
