[The meaning of the concept "ecological hazard"].

Anthropogenic activity transforms the natural media and in the wide sense is a stimulus of further evolution. The late consequences of anthropogenic activity are mainly unpredictable. It is possible to acknowledge anthropogenic activity as ecologically hazardous only when it has a damaging effect on the health of man or interferes with its interests, i.e. while estimating it from egocentric positions. At present ecological hazards are first of all presented by industrial waste.

[Development of an immunoenzyme test system for detecting antibodies to commercial strains of feed yeasts].

ELISA as a specific and highly sensitive test system was used for the examination of large groups of workers employed in the production of fodder protein to detect antibodies to the production strains of fodder yeast. The results yielded by ELISA correlated well with those obtained by the serological luminescent techniques, but antibody titers determined by means of ELISA are 10-20 times higher.

[Changes in the cellular reactivity of guinea pigs sensitized with Bacillus thuringiensis].

Changes in the cell-mediated responsiveness of the body under the action of different variants of B. thuringiensis have been studied in experiments on guinea pigs. The data thus obtained indicate that the development of sensitization occurs in the animals, which is manifested by the increase of the sensitivity of leukocytes to the specific allergen and by the increase of the phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages. The most pronounced changes in the immune responsiveness of guinea pigs have been observed after the parenteral administration of B. thuringiensis var. galleriae.
