[Surgical anatomy of the gracilis muscle of the thigh].

As demonstrates the investigation of 100 preparations, the main vascular-nervous "hilus" of the muscle is situated on the superior third of its lateral part. They contain the transversal branch of the medial artery, circumflexing the femoral bone with the accompanying vein, having the same name, and the anterior branch of the obturative nerve (92 preparations), or muscle branch of the femoral nerve (8 preparations). The muscle has a well developed network of intrasystemic and intersystemic anastomoses. Beginning from the first period of childhood, for sphincter plasticity either the whole muscle, or a graft, cut out from its lateral part, can be used.

[Constitutional and age-related properties of the aortic isthmus].

By means of micro- and macropreparation and morphometry methods in 200 corpses of children and adult persons, it has been stated that skeletotopy and syntopy of the aortal isthmus depends on the constitution of the person. Certain objective criteria have been elaborated for surgical approaches to the aortal isthmus. In little children, during early and first childhood, anterolateral thoracotomy should be performed in the III intercostal space; in persons with brachymorphose type of constitution--left-sided thoracotomy in the IV intercostal space; in persons with transitional and long-narrow thorax--left-sided thoracotomy in the V intercostal space with resection of the V rib.

[Angioarchitectonics of eyeball blood vessels in the normal dog and in dogs with experimental coarctation of the aorta].

Three series of chronic experiments for production of a dosed coarctation of the aorta (1/2, 2/3 and 3/4 of its lumen) have been carried out in 96 dogs. The postoperative period in all the animals had a smooth course. After the operation, by means of functional and pathomorphological investigation architectonical peculiarities of the eye ball vessels are studied. For comparison of the changes occurring in the eye ball vessels under the given pathology, its normal blood supply has been studied in 20 dogs. At various degree of the aortal coarctation already during the first week of the experiment, certain changes develop in the vascular system of the eye ball coats: spasm of the arterioles, up to the capillaries and dilatation of the venules. Vascular convolution of various degree is revealed. The changes described are directly dependent on the degree of the aorta narrowing and duration of the experiment.

[Surgical anatomy of the greater pectoral muscle].

In 41 preparations of the m. pectoralis major it has been stated by means of anatomical methods that the vascular "hilus" is projected on the upper third of its middle part and represented by the thoracic branch of the thoracoacromial artery. The latter has several variants dividing into branches of the successive orders. It has been stated that the muscle has a wide network of anastomoses at the macro-microscopic level. For plastic purposes, it is expedient to use the external and middle parts of the m. pectoralis major which have more favourable conditions of the blood supply. Owing to the data obtained and the technique, developed on 25 corpses, for cutting out and graft transplantation in the thoracic cavity, it has been possible to operate 9 patients.

[Possibility of using a pedicle flap made from the musculus latissimus dorsi for cardiopexy].

Myocardiopexy is an expedient operation for a deep sclerotic injury to the coronary vessels. In the experiments on 8 human cadavers and 24 animals the authors developed the technic of cutting out and transposition of pedicle grafts from the broadest muscle of the back to the heart. Various methods of pathomorphologic and functional investigations have proved the connection existing between the vessels of the graft and those of myocardium. This connection prevents the death of animals from myocardiac infarction following ligation of the right coronary artery above the zone of myocardiopexy.
