[The history of Halle ars medica judaica. VI. The years 1933-1945].
The process of the elimination of Jewish physicians beginning after 1933 happened in several stages. At the institutions of higher education it was finished to a large extent after about three years. Renowned scientific societies acceded to this action. The possibility to work for Jewish practitioners was restricted to a minimum. The described individual fates of university teachers and practitioners from the city of Halle represent a development which 275 years ago had seen the city on the river Saale in a noteworthy way at the side of humanistic progress.
