Suprasellar cystic meningioma: unusual presentation and review of the literature.

We report on a case of suprasellar cystic meningioma. The magnetic resonance imaging of this tumor resembled that of a craniopharyngioma. The definitive diagnosis of meningioma was made only after histopathological confirmation. We conclude that preoperative studies are often equivocal. The possibility of meningioma should be considered in the diagnosis of any intracranial neoplasms with radiological and surgical evidence of a cystic lesion.

Intramedullary arachnoid cyst. Case report.

The authors present an unusual case of intramedullary arachnoid cyst diagnosed in a patient after the lesion was resected. A wide decompressive surgery was performed and the lesion removed. Histopathological findings were consistent with the diagnosis of arachnoid cyst. Postoperatively the patient exhibited marked improvement in neurological status. To the best of the authors' knowledge, there is no case report of intramedullary arachnoid cyst reported in the literature. With the advent of newer neuroimaging modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging the number of cases of intramedullary arachnoid cysts encountered in the future may increase.

Recurrent osteoid osteoma: a case report with imaging features.

We present a case of a 14-year-old boy, who presented with pain in the left thigh region for 1 year. The pain exacerbated at night, waking up the child and was relieved by salicylates. On the basis of clinical history, conventional radiography, computerized tomography and bone scintigraphy, a diagnosis of osteoid osteoma was made. The tumor was completely excised, and there was complete remission of symptoms. Six months following surgery, the pain recurred in the same region. Conventional radiography revealed dense sclerosis at the surgical site. Three-phase skeletal scintigraphy showed a focal area of increased blood pool activity followed by intense focal uptake in delayed images, characteristic of osteoid osteoma. Computerized tomography confirmed the findings of skeletal scintigraphy.

Inflammatory pseudotumor of gall bladder fossa of liver.

Inflammatory pseudotumor has been described in the lung, liver and other sites, but pseudotumors of the gall bladder fossa have not been reported earlier. We report a 39-year-old woman with inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver in the gall bladder fossa that resembled carcinoma gall bladder.
