Cor pulmonale and facio-auriculo-vertebral sequence.
Two patients with facio-auriculo-vertebral sequence and cor pulmonale secondary to chronic airway obstruction responded rapidly and completely following surgical removal of normal-sized tonsillar and adenoidal tissue. Any child with a craniofacial malformation that includes diminished pharyngeal dimension or moderate micrognathia with midface hypoplasia must be observed closely, lest chronic progressive airflow impedance lead to right heart failure.
