The chromosomal genome sequence of a staghorn coral, Acropora cf.  manni (Scleractinia: Acroporidae).

We present a genome assembly from a colony sample of Acropora cf. manni (staghorn coral; Cnidaria; Anthozoa; Scleractinia; Acroporidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 459.26 megabases and 489.30 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (94.39%) is scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.48 kilobases. Metagenome binning recovered one bacterial bin from the phylum Chlamydiota.

Acropora cf. manni

The genome sequence of a muscid fly, Hydrotaea militaris (Meigen, 1826) (Diptera: Muscidae).

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Hydrotaea militaris (Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Muscidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1 703.03 megabases and 1 760.39 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (96.2%) is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.83 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.

Diptera

The genome sequence of the Shepherd's Fritillary, Boloria pales (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775 (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae).

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Boloria pales (Shepherd's Fritillary; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Nymphalidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 382.99 megabases and 364.88 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.96%) is scaffolded into 30 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.17 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 12,117 protein-coding genes.

Boloria pales

The genome sequence of the Red-underwing Skipper, Spialia sertorius (Hoffmannsegg, 1804) (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae).

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Spialia sertorius (Red-underwing Skipper; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Hesperiidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 364.57 megabases and 323.91 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.92%) is scaffolded into 32 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.34 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 12,823 protein-coding genes.

Lepidoptera

The genome sequence of the Southern Grizzled Skipper, Pyrgus malvoides (Elwes & Edwards, 1897) (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae).

We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of Pyrgus malvoides (Southern Grizzled Skipper; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Hesperiidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 746.71 megabases and 747.11 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.8%) is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.41 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 14,715 protein-coding genes.

Lepidoptera

The genome sequence of the muscid fly, Hydrotaea similis Meade, 1887 (Diptera: Muscidae).

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Hydrotaea similis (muscid fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Muscidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 884.66 megabases and 852.78 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (90.83%) is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 20.27 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.

Diptera

The chromosomal genome sequence of the spiny sea fan, Muricea muricata (Pallas, 1766) (Malacalcyonacea: Plexauridae) and its associated microbial metagenome sequences.

We present a genome assembly from a Muricea muricata specimen (spiny sea fan; Cnidaria; Anthozoa; Malacalcyonacea; Plexauridae). The genome sequence has a total length of 453.40 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.45%) is scaffolded into 16 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 19.29 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 52 164 protein-coding genes. From the metagenome data, we recovered five bins, of which three were high-quality MAGs.

Malacalcyonacea

The genome sequence of a nematode, Thelazia callipaeda Railliet & Henry, 1910 (Rhabditida: Thelaziidae).

We present a genome assembly of Thelazia callipaeda (nematode; Nematoda; Chromadorea; Rhabditida; Thelaziidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 117.59 megabases. Most of the assembly (75.82%) is scaffolded into 4 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has been assembled, with a length of 13.66 kilobases.

We present a genome assembly of Frangula alnus (alder buckthorn; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Rosales; Rhamnaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 279.06 megabases and 281.25 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.91%) is scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Most of haplotype 2 (99.91%) is scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 492.03 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 161.23 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.

Frangula alnus

The chromosomal genome sequence of the lesser starlet coral, Siderastrea radians (Pallas, 1766) (Scleractinia: Rhizangiidae) and its associated microbial metagenome sequences.

We present a genome assembly from a specimen of Siderastrea radians (lesser starlet coral; Cnidaria; Anthozoa; Scleractinia; Rhizangiidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 807.19 megabases. Most of the assembly (94.17%) is scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 19.38 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 47 051 protein-coding genes. From the metagenome data, we recovered two binned metagenomes assigned to the bacterial phylum Bacteroidota and class Bacteroidia.

Scleractinia

The genome sequence of Quercus petraea Liebl., 1784 (Fagales: Fagaceae).

We present a genome assembly of Quercus petraea (sessile oak; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Fagales; Fagaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 823.57 megabases and 815.09 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.41%) is scaffolded into 12 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 349.29 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 161.18 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 32 253 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.

Fagales

The chromosomal genome sequence of the maze coral, Meandrina meandrites (Linnaeus, 1758) (Scleractinia: Meandrinidae) and its associated microbial metagenome sequences.

We present a genome assembly from a specimen of Meandrina meandrites (maze coral; Cnidaria; Anthozoa; Scleractinia; Meandrinidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 551.16 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.25%) is scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.2 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 30 464 protein-coding genes. We recovered two bins from the metagenome data.

Meandrina meandrites

The genome sequence of a coronate scyphozoan jellyfish, Nausithoe racemosa (Komai, 1936) (Coronatae: Nausithoidae), and a metagenome-assembled genome of the associated cyanobacterium Moorena producens.

We present a genome assembly from a specimen of Nausithoe racemosa (coronate scyphozoan jellyfish; Cnidaria; Scyphozoa; Coronatae; Nausithoidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 4 784.66 megabases and 4 868.20 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (97.34%) is scaffolded into 20 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 13.97 kilobases. From the metagenome data, we recovered one high-quality metagenome-assembled genome.

Coronatae
