A case of small-bowel volvulus occurring during pregnancy after pancreaticobiliary bypass for morbid obesity is presented. The association between pregnancy, previous small-bowel bypass surgery and intestinal volvulus is discussed.
A patient with a hydatidiform mole and coexistent live fetus is presented. This rare phenomenon occurs in 0.005-0.01% of all pregnancies. Correct antenatal diagnosis can be made with ultrasonography in conjunction with the presence of low human placental lactogen and raised beta-human chorionic gonadotrophin levels.

A patient with cervical cancer had renal failure secondary to bilateral ureteric obstruction. Percutaneous nephrostomy was performed, allowing restoration of renal function while radiotherapy was administered. This technique offers a temporary means of bypassing obstructed ureters and is associated with low morbidity and minimal surgical risk.

Unilateral opacification of the left mesonephric duct (Gartner's duct) was observed during Hysterosalpingography. Embryological and anatomical explanation for this phenomenon and a review of the literature are presented.
A case of pregnancy complicated by a placental hemangioma is presented. This was unassociated with any of the complications commonly coexistant with this tumor, and presented with fetal anemia due to a fetomaternal transfusion.
