[Cytomegalovirus infection and glomerulonephritis].

A total of 56 patients were studied with different forms of glomerulonephritis (GN). Of these, 15 subjects presented with acute, 41--chronic form of GN. The control group was 10 essentially healthy subjects. In the GN patient group, IgG to CMV was identifiable in 68 percent of patients, IgM--in 54 percent; there were only 20 percent of those demonstrating immunoglobulins to CMV among healthy subjects. CMV infection was most common among patients with nephrotic and latent forms of ChGN. Clinically, the infected patients showed a marked proteinuria, hematuria, and imbalance in the system of immunity manifested by a rise in the number of T-helpers, reduction in T-suppressors, IgG, activity of complement and system of phagocytosis.

Acute Disease↗

[Immunological disorders in pregnant women with inflammatory kidney diseases and nephropathy].

The humoral and cellular immunity was investigated in 168 pregnant with different diseases of the kidneys. A detailed study of the blood lymphocyte population, immunoglobulins, immune complexes, hemolytic activity revealed changes of immunologic homeostasis which may be used as diagnostic criteria of activity of the pathological process and for treatment tactics.

Antibody Formation↗

[The dispensary care of pregnant women with kidney diseases].

The authors evaluated data of expertise of the quality of observations on 1056 pregnant women with renal diseases (primary nephropathy, chronic glomerulonephritis, acute and chronic pyelonephritis, acute and chronic pyelonephritis, associated nephropathies) as well as data on the dynamic observation of 300 patients carried out according to special methods. On the basis of these findings the authors worked out the strategy, tactics and individual program of dispensarization with consideration of regularities of evolution of renal diseases, risk factors in the course of onset and progression of the disease. An organizational model was worked out of graded dispensarization with the participation of obstetricians, nephrologists, therapists, urologists.
