[Cryodestruction of the pancreas in the surgical treatment of extensive hemorrhagic pancreatic necrosis].

Resulting from the experimental investigations on 70 dogs and analysis of 3 clinical cases, the authors have established that cryodestruction of the pancreas in extensive hemorrhagic pancreonecrosis permitted to cup off promptly the enzymatic toxemia and prevented the development of secondary purulent complications. The most pronounced anti-enzyme effect was noted in combination of the corpus-caudal resection of the pancreas and cryodestruction of the organ remainder.

[Evaluation of certain local immunity factors in patients with infectious-allergic bronchial asthma and therapy with immunostimulators].

Among the patients with the allergic infectious bronchial asthma accompanied by the chronic recurring infection of the respiratory organs a decrease in the immunoglobulin level of bronchial secretion, as compared with the normal level, was revealed in 72.1%, and the absence of IgA or SIgA in 23%. The immunofluorescent study of the biopsy specimen of the bronchial mucous membrane confirmed the suppression of local immunity accompanied by the decreased number of immunoglobulin-producing cells in the epithelium and the subjacent connective tissue, by changes in the basal membrane and by the sclerosis of the mucous membrane. Immunostimulating therapy with levamisol yielded good results, especially in patients with decreased local immunity, including patients receiving glucocorticosteroids. The complete absence of immunoglobulin-producing cells in the bronchial mucous membrane is prognostically infavorable: this condition may be the cause of immunotherapy having a weak effect, even to the point of being ineffective.

[Effect of the endolymphatic administration of protease inhibitors on pancreatic morphofunctional activity in acute experimental pancreatitis].

Experimental acute pancreatitis was induced in 16 dogs by administering infected bile under pressure. Functional and electron microscopic changes in the pancreas were studied before and after endolymphatic infusions of contrykal in a dose of 10 000 ATpE. It was established that endolymphatic administration of contrykal leads to an appreciable decrease in proteolytic activity of the pancreas and to inactivation of the kallikrein-kinin system. Electron microscopy studies of the exocrine apparatus of the pancreas after the dogs' death have demonstrated that endolymphatic administration of contrykal reduces intracellular processes of the synthesis of pancreatic enzymes.
