Setting standards.

Abstract

To ensure that a housekeeping department operates smoothly, various standards must be established and applied. Standards serve as a guide to quality and quantity. The standards will be determined cooperatively by members of top management with input from the housekeeping director and the user department. An appraisal of the facility needs to be made in order to establish proper standards. Once the appraisal has been completed, time standards, frequency standards, and quality standards can be established.
