Redefining hospital performance: a new commitment to competitiveness through employee involvement.
Abstract
This issue of DRG Monitor describes a productivity enhancement system that is decentralized to the work unit level in the hospital. The system depends on a budgeted excess bonus pool that triggers team-based bonuses when unit personnel positively influence indicators of work unit productivity and work unit indicators of the quality of health care services.
