MRSA: the antipodean experience.
Abstract
Drug resistant pathogens are becoming an increasing problem affecting paediatric patients requiring strict adherence to infection control hygiene measures to prevent transmission to susceptible patients. Strategies utilised within three paediatric hospitals in Australia are considered and compared with the situation in the United Kingdom. Networking with other infection control teams at other hospitals world-wide enables prompt sharing information and new developments. The author presents the findings of an infection control travel award to Australia.
