Mission possible: getting a BSN.
Abstract
In the past several issues of The American Nurse, the editorial pages have carried discussions on educational preparation in the nursing profession. Specifically, many letter-writers shared concerns about the difficulty in obtaining a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree and the lack of credit afforded by many universities to nurses for their diplomas and, often, years of experience. Here, five nurses share why they earned a BSN and what they've gained from it, and offer tips on how to overcome hurdles to obtain the degree.
