[Meta-analysis and 'evidence-based practice' in dentistry].

Abstract

The dental practitioner may sometimes search for certainty in dental decisions from the dental literature. In this 'Evidence Based Dentistry' situation a meta-analysis, as a structured and statistically supported literature review, may be helpful. The papers that are included in the meta-analysis have to be carefully screened and selected for a correct clinical decision.
