[Active immunization against hepatitis A].

Abstract

UNLABELLED: Hepatitis A, one of the most widely extended liver infections in the world, particularly in developing countries, is now a preventable disease with a safe and effective vaccine. CONCLUSIONS: The inactivated vaccine against hepatitis A is safe and effective in healthy people, as well as in patients with mild to moderate chronic liver disease without de-compensation, however vaccination has an uncertain effectiveness in patients with advanced cirrhosis and in liver transplant recipients.
