[Shoulder dystocia].
Abstract
In the increasing number of plaintiffs against mal-practice shoulder dystocia and plexus paralysis take a special role. Legal decisions are leaning too one-sided on statistical experience of childrens weight. But form and diameter of the pelvis should also be considered and better registered in medical record. A catalog of risks is given to prevent obstetrical cause of shoulder dystocia and plexus paralysis. The paper refers to the social and psychological change in which the child-parents must have more right to decide between cesarean section or vaginal delivery to prevent injury of the baby.
