A guide to selecting and using urinary sheaths.
Abstract
Male continence is a neglected area of care, with many products, such as incontinence pads, being used for patients when more comfortable alternatives, such as urinary sheaths, are available. However, publications such as The National Service Framework for Older People (DoH, 2002) and Good Practice in Continence Services (DoH, 2000) have encouraged health and social care professionals to look at the way continence problems are managed.
