Prominent role for end users necessary.
Abstract
Health facility developments have the potential to be intellectually stimulating and immensely satisfying for those lucky enough to be involved. They can create significant economic, social, and environmental benefits to the community. It is therefore appropriate that we do everything we can to create health facilities we can be proud of, facilities that are: Conducive to best possible patient care. Welcoming to patients, relatives and carers. Conducive to staff functioning at their best. Capable of providing best value throughout their lifespan. This article concludes that these objectives are best achieved if all stakeholders work together as a team, building on the strengths of each member. It will be shown that it is essential that end users are an integral part of this team.
