Teaching skin self-examination.
Abstract
Dermatology nurses can aid in the early detection and treatment of skin cancer by teaching patients proper skin self-examination techniques. Key principles of self-examination are signs and symptoms of skin cancer, proper exam procedure, counseling, and documentation of and referral for suspected lesions.
