Bilateral dacryops.

Abstract

The clinical, radiologic, and histopathologic findings of a case of bilateral dacryops is reported in a 49-year-old man. The patient presented with cystic masses located in superior lateral orbits and underwent bilateral excisions of these without any postoperative complications.

[Retrorectal cystic hamartoma].

The pathogenesis of retrorectal cystic hamartomas in the presacrococcygeal space, while known to be related to embryological remnants of the caudal region, is controversial. These lesions are rarely found in children; in the early stages of their development they may be symptomless. Diagnosis is usually made when the tumor is large enough to cause pain or intestinal obstruction, or when it becomes infected. A 2-month-old girl with a retrorectal cystic hamartoma initially treated as a perianal abscess is presented.

[Primary neonatal liver cyst].

The authors found with neonatal ultrasound screening a cyst in the epigastrium sized 45 x 18 x 36 mm. The newborn was operated at age of 7 days. The cyst was in the right lobe of the liver and after extirpation healed.
