Several patients with an epidermoid cyst of the sole have recently been described in Japan. In these cases human papillomavirus was found in the wall and in the content of the cyst. We report the first documented case outside of Japan in which human papillomavirus has been demonstrated in an epidermoid cyst of the sole.
A case of an unusual presentation of epidermoid cyst is reported where external pressure from the cystic swelling on the submandibular salivary duct produced symptoms of obstructive sialadenitis. The diagnostic problems, radiological and anaesthetic difficulties are described.
We introduce here a case of an epidermal cyst, which was preoperatively examined with chemical shift MR imaging at 0.1-T magnetic field. The case shows that fat/water separation method can be successfully used in tissue characterization.
