[Ileostomy function in the early postoperative stage].
Abstract
If the serosa of the protruding ileum segment is covered by mucosa [2, 3] and exclusion or resection of terminal ileum is avoided, ileostomy dysfunction or water and sodium depletion cannot be observed. Therefore, temporary loop ileostomy may be practiced in patients who have undergone ileorectostomy to prevent leakage of the anastomosis.
