The microneedleholderscissors and the microforceps.
Abstract
Two new Australian-designed instruments for microsurgery are described. These are a combination microneedleholder and scissors, and a versatile microforceps. With one of these combination instruments in each hand no additional equipment is needed for a microanastomosis of any small vessel, tube, or nerve. Ergonomically designed for the penholder hand grip their use considerably reduces the time of microanastomosis and does away with the need for both a skilled assistant and an expensive double-operating microscope.
