The reverse double-lumen prosthesis--a preliminary report.
Abstract
The reverse double-lumen implant changes the previous concept of double-lumen implants by using an outer lumen of gel and an inflatable inner lumen. This concept has improved the inflatable prosthesis by eliminating outer shell wrinkling yet maintaining volume adjustability and allowing for a softer breast contour. It also allows for the installation of medication within the implant with ready dispersion into the pocket. I have used these implants exclusively for the past three years. A preliminary report is presented.
