Staff support.

Abstract

Staff support is essential for the individuals who care for patients with severe injuries. The loss of a colleague led to the development of the coping strategies described in this article. It is hoped that the experiences shared in this article will aid others in creating their own specific strategies for coping within hospitals or in other situations.
