[Fatty acid binding protein (FABP)].
Abstract
Although FABPs have been extensively investigated, their function is not finally established. Based upon their tissue expression, binding affinities, regulation, in vitro effects on fatty acid transfer and upon enzymes, it has been postulated that these proteins play an important role in the transport and metabolism of long-chain fatty acid.
