Privacy: a key nursing concept.
Abstract
This article discusses how intrusion of territory and personal space produces anxiety and feelings of depersonalisation in hospitalised clients. The implications of privacy as applied to nursing contexts are also examined. Finally, there is a brief discussion of the use of space by staff in terms of status and function.
