Abstract

Gastric cancer remains a clinically important tumor. Changing demographics, the association with Helicobacter pylori infection, and the fact that gastric carcinoma remains the world's second most common malignancy all have rekindled interest in this tumor, resulting in numerous studies attempting to define patterns, associations, and causes. This article focuses on new data regarding this malignancy, especially as it impacts on the endoscopic approach to diagnosis and therapy.
