Congenital rupture of the scrotum caused by meconium peritonitis occurred in a newborn with clinical findings of the Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome. Ruptured omphalocele and jejunal atresia were present. Surgical repair 3 hours after birth was successful.
Description of a clinical case diagnosed in the first hours of life in apparently well newborn. Diagnostic suspicion by palpation and transillumination. Absence of any subjective sign. Inspective symptom the light scrotal swelling. The neonate received an immediate surgical exploration with subsequent orchiectomy.
Benign external genital lesions, being uncommon, can cause a significant diagnostic dilemma for the physician and anxiety for the patient. These lesions can be grouped into three categories: vascular lesions, nevi, and benign new growths.
