[Prognostic factors in bladder tumors].
Abstract
A large majority of bladder tumours are transitional cell carcinomas. They are usually superficial tumours involving essentially a risk of local recurrence. On the contrary, invasive bladder tumours can be life-threatening. In an effort to evaluate the risk of recurrence or progression of bladder tumours, many factors--clinical, histological and biological--have been evaluated. The two most important factors in establishing prognosis in bladder tumours are the stage and the histological classification of the tumour.
