Laser physics and physiology.
Abstract
Laser light is a controlled, disciplined energy source that can rejuvenate skin efficiently. The carbon dioxide laser is the standard of skin rejuvenation because of its selective effect on water and skin. Understanding laser physics and tissue interaction allows the operator to use the laser effectively and safely to ablate actinic damage, wrinkles, and scars from the skin.
