[Morphology of tissue reactions around implants after combined surgical repair of the abdominal wall].

Tissue reactions to titanium-nickelide and polypropylen and caprone implants used in surgical treatment of anterior aldomen wall hernias were studied in experiment. Digital density of leukocytes, fibroblasts, vessels, thickness of the capsule were studied. Pronounced inflammatory reaction was observed on day 3 which attenuated on day 14 in case of titanium nickelide and on day 30-60 in case of polypropylene and caprone. Fibroplastic processes start in the first group after 7 days while in the second group only after 30 days of the experiment. Thickness of the capsule around titanium-nickelide was 2-3 times less than around polypropylene and caprone. Thus, titanium-nickelide material is biologically more inert than caprone and polypropylen which are widely used in surgery of hernias.

[The hygiene estimation of polyamide shells safety for the sausage products].

The investigation of polyamide shells, contrasting according to the level of penetration and layering, named as "Amitan", "Amiflex T", "Amismok" were carried out. It was stated that in terms of technological process of cooked meats production modeling the studied polyamide shells meet the requirements of hygiene safety.

[Time-resolved FTIR study of amorphous process of nylon 6 with calcium chloride].

The influence of calcium chloride on the crystallinity of nylon 6 was studied by means of time-resolved FTIR, WADX and DSC. The results show that the crystallinity of nylon 6 decreased with the increase of CaCl2, and finally nylon 6 changed from crystal phase to amorphous phase. Because hydrogen bond is the main reason that nylon has three-dimensional ordered structure and forms crystalline phase, we further studied the changes of wave number of NH, amide I and amide II related to hydrogen bond in CaCl2/PA6 complexes by time-resolved FTIR. These studies indicate that in the chloroethanol solution of nylon 6 and calcium chloride, complex bonds between calcium cation and oxygen atom of carbonyl group gradually form, and calcium cations are inserted into the molecular chains of nylon 6, which weaken the hydrogen bonds between the molecular chains of nylon 6 and damage the three-dimensional ordered structure of nylon 6, so the crystallinity of nylon 6 decreases and nylon 6 changes from crystalline to amorphous phase.

[New ways to increasing the yield of laccase from Panus tigrinus fungi].

We optimized the conditions for production of laccase by lignolytic fungi Panus tigrinus 8/18. 2,4-Dimethylphenol was used as an aromatic inductor. The addition of 2,4-dimethylphenol and 2 mM CuSO4 to a rich medium was followed by a tenfold increase in the yield of this enzyme. Additional treatment of the medium with perftoran (oxygen-carrying agent) and immobilization of the fungus on polycaproamide fibers increased significantly laccase activity in the medium. The conditions for cultivation of P. tigrinus fungi were optimized. It allowed us to increase laccase activity in the medium by 25 times (compared to activity of the enzyme obtained with previously described methods).

[Characterization of the orientation of polymer material by non-polarized raman laser light spectroscopy].

The non-polarized Raman laser light was used to investigate the anisotropic polymers including polypropylene fiber, nylon 6 flat fiber, and polyethylene pipe. The Raman spectra of the same samples with different location relative to the incident direction of laser beam show obvious differences. The present result extends the application of Raman spectroscopy to the characterization of oriented polymers samples.

Extraocular muscle transplantation.

1. The transplantation of extraocular homografts in dogs and humans has been described. 2. The extraocular muscle tissue transplanted remains viable, but loses its characteristics of muscle tissue during the period of the normal healing process following extraocular muscle surgery. 3. Autogenous homograft of extraocular muscle has an advantage over artificial synthetic material with the absence of extrusion and less reaction. 4. This is a clinically usable procedure today, especially in the amblyopic ehe with high deviation to accomplish an additional lengthening of one extraocular muscle, particularly if extraocular muscle surgery has previously been performed.

[Double contrasting in the ultrasonic study of the area of the suture on the uterus following cesarean section].

Ultrasonic examination of the suture site on the uterus was carried out in 7-10 days following a cesarean section in 73 women. Several types of characteristic echograms were distinguished, evidencing the adequacy of the reparative processes at the site of suture on the uterus. The authors find the double-contrast echoscopic examination of the postoperative uterus highly effective, and much more informative than common ultrasonic examination. Synthetic suture material is recommended.
