Comparative evaluation of oxidative stress biomarkers F2-isoprostanes and 8-OHdG in Parkinson's disease and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: a systematic review and meta-analysis of human studies.

BACKGROUND: Oxidative stress is central to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the utility of biomarkers for lipid peroxidation (F2-isoprostanes) and DNA damage (8-OHdG) in the comorbidity of PD and T2DM remains unclear. METHODS: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of 54 unique studies of human subjects aged ≥ 50 years (n = 7,521: 3,522 with T2DM, 722 with PD, and 3,277 controls), measuring biomarkers in serum, plasma, or leukocytes. Mixed-effects models quantified standardized differences (Hedges' g) across subgroups. RESULTS: In T2DM, F2-isoprostanes (g = 1.60, 95% CI: 0.95-2.25) and 8-OHdG (g = 2.64, 95% CI: 2.13-3.14) were markedly elevated (p < 0.001). Stronger effects were observed in younger cohorts and serum/plasma samples, with complications like nephropathy exhibiting extreme oxidative stress (g = 5.24). In PD, 8-OHdG was moderately elevated (g = 0.78, 95% CI: 0.18-1.39; p = 0.011), particularly in randomized controlled trials and plasma samples, whereas F2-isoprostanes were not significantly elevated (g = 0.47, 95% CI: -0.43-1.38). High heterogeneity in T2DM (I2 > 90%) reflected methodological variability. CONCLUSION: Distinct profiles - both markers elevated in T2DM but only 8-OHdG in PD - underscore 8-OHdG's potential in PD-T2DM comorbidity. Future research should focus on standardized assays, multi-compartmental or multi-modal sampling, and longitudinal studies to clarify mechanisms and therapeutic targets.

Predictors of plasma lead among lithographic print shop workers in Mexico City.

BACKGROUND: Plasma lead is considered a biological marker that reflects the fraction of lead in blood that is toxicologically available. We examined the relationship between plasma lead and other biomarkers of lead exposure in 69 lithographic print shop workers. METHODS: Lead was measured in plasma and whole blood (by inductively coupled plasma-magnetic sector mass spectrometry), in bone (by 109Cd X-ray fluorescence), and in hand wipes and occupational air samples. Personal hygiene habits at work were surveyed. RESULTS: Mean age was 47 years and 86% (n=59) were men. Mean lead levels were 0.3 microg/L in plasma, 11.9 microg/dL in blood, 46.7 microg/g in patella, and 27.6 microg/g in tibia. Taken together, two multivariate linear models explained 57% of variability in plasma lead levels. Predictors for the first model were lead in patella (beta = 0.006), blood (beta = 0.008), and hygiene index (beta = -0.11). Predictors for the second model were lead in tibia (beta = 0.008), blood (beta = 0.008), and hygiene index (beta = -0.13). CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that accumulated bone stores and hygiene habits are both significant independent predictors of plasma lead levels in active workers at this print shop.

5,6-Dimethylxanthenone-4-acetic acid in the treatment of refractory tumors: a phase I safety study of a vascular disrupting agent.

This phase I safety study aimed to identify the optimal dose of the vascular disrupting agent 5,6-dimethylxanthenone-4-acetic acid (DMXAA) for combination studies. Using a crossover design, 15 patients with refractory tumors were allocated randomly to receive six sequential doses of DMXAA (300, 600, 1,200, 1,800, 2,400, and 3,000 mg m(-2)), each given once-weekly as a 20-minute i.v. infusion. The drug was generally well tolerated. Transient, moderate increases in the heart rate-corrected cardiac QT interval occurred at the two highest doses. DMXAA produced transient dose-dependent increases in blood pressure. Transient, dose-related visual disturbances occurred at the two highest doses. No significant changes in K(trans) and k(ep) were observed but V(e), a secondary dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging variable, increased significantly after giving DMXAA. At 1,200 mg m(-2), the Cmax and the area under the concentration-time curve over 24 hours for total and free DMXAA plasma concentrations were 315 +/- 25.8 microg/mL, 29 +/- 6.4 microg/mL x d, 8.0 +/- 1.77 microg/mL, and 0.43 +/- 0.07 microg/mL x d, respectively. Plasma levels of the vascular damage biomarker 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid increased in the 4 hours after treatment in a dose-dependent fashion up to 1,200 mg m(-2), with a plateau thereafter. Doses in the range of 1,200 mg m(-2) have been selected for further studies (phase II combination studies with taxanes and platins are under way) because this dose produced no significant effect on heart rate-corrected cardiac QT interval, produced near maximum levels of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, achieved DMXAA plasma concentrations within the preclinical therapeutic range, and was well tolerated.

Prognostic factors in survival of bladder cancer.

Clinical and pathologic data of 36 patients with transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder were investigated to determine the significance on patient survival of these factors: pathologic grade and stage; the immunohistochemistry of eight cell and tumor markers; nuclear DNA flow cytometric parameters; and patient smoking status. The bivariate and multivariate statistical analysis significantly correlated patient survival rates with the immunohistochemical expression of blood group, isoantigens A (P less than 0.05), O(H) (P = 0.001), the oncogene-related protein ORP-p21 (P less than 0.05), the pathologic grade and stage (P = 0.002), and the tumor DNA ploidy (P less than 0.05). Smoking status correlated aneuploidy (P less than 0.05) and tumor expression of ORP-p21 (P less than 0.05) with the patient survival rate. Despite the relatively small number of patients in this study, the results suggest that the clinicopathologic variables are significant factors in survival of bladder cancer.

Individual variability in Tityus serrulatus (Scorpiones, Buthidae) venom elicited by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry.

Venom variability in specimens of Tityus serrulatus scorpion was assessed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOFMS) analyses. An expanded time lag venom extraction protocol was carried out using ten scorpions to study individual variations that might occur due to different rates in protein expression and/or processing. The first extraction of venom was made from the animals after 20 days of starvation, which allowed the venom gland to be filled up. The second extraction event was carried out 24 hours after the first one. The third was 8 days after the first extraction. By means of MALDI-TOF analyses, important variations were observed in venoms of a single specimen extracted at different times, especially in latter extraction events. These variations are most probably related to dynamics in cell gland production. Since T. serrulatus is a parthenogenetic species, sexual variations are naturally excluded and we did not expect intra-specific variations, which was confirmed. Knowledge of individual venom variability is extremely important to avoid misunderstandings in the use of venom proteomic analysis as a taxonomic tool.

Statistical analysis of cyprinid ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase data in a large French watershed.

A comparison of ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) data collected in 1995 in various sites in the Rhône watershed (France) was carried out to quantify the influence of factors such as contamination and biological parameters on EROD levels and within-group variabilities. Three species of cyprinids were collected and fish chemical contamination was measured. A log transformation of EROD data provided both normalization and homogeneity of variances. The influence of female sexual maturation on the variability and EROD dimorphism was quantified. A relationship with contaminant bioaccumulation was observed. A comparison with EROD data collected during previous studies by the same laboratory was made to validate the results.

RECPAM analysis of prognostic factors in patients with stage III breast cancer.

A retrospective chart review was conducted of women with stage III breast cancer seen at the Princess Margaret Hospital between January 1977 and December 1980. Three hundred and sixty-nine patients were available for analysis. These cases were evaluated to determine the prognostic factors of patients presenting with this stage of the disease using a recursive partitioning technique, RECPAM, and a Cox regression model. A non-mathematical description of RECPAM is presented and the advantages of RECPAM over Cox analysis are discussed. The results identify primary tumour size, axillary node involvement, internal mammary node involvement, and estrogen receptor status as the most important prognostic variables. RECPAM identified 3 prognostic groups and simultaneously provided rules based on the prognostic variables to assign patients to poor, intermediate, or good prognosis categories. Patients with estrogen receptor negative tumours, or those with axillary node involvement, primary tumours greater than 5 cm, and serum alkaline phosphatase greater than 60 IU/L, or those with internal mammary node involvement, no skin changes, and serum alkaline phosphatase greater than 60 IU/L, define a group with a poor prognosis. Patients with estrogen receptor positive tumours, no axillary node involvements, and primary tumours greater than 5 cm, or estrogen receptor positive tumours, axillary node involvement, primary tumours greater than 5 cm, but serum alkaline phosphatase less than or equal to 60 U/L, have an intermediate prognosis. The good prognosis group consists of those patients with estrogen receptor positive tumours who have either skin changes or primary tumours less than or equal to 5 cm. The effect of loco-regional and systemic therapy was assessed and there was no association between treatment assignment and prognostic group. On the basis of this RECPAM analysis, we have defined important prognostic variables to be used in the design of clinical trials, and three major patient subgroups which can be used in routine oncologic practice as a guide to patient management.

Bone mineral density, collagen type 1 alpha 1 genotypes and bone turnover in premenopausal women with diabetes mellitus.

Osteopenia is a recognised complication of diabetes mellitus which could be due to abnormal bone turnover or disturbances in the calcium/parathyroid hormone/vitamin D axis or both. Genetic factors also play an important part in determining bone mass although this has not been studied in diabetes. Recently a polymorphism of the collagen type 1 alpha 1 (COL1A1) gene has been shown to be associated with low bone mass in British women. To identify subjects with diabetes who may be at risk of developing osteoporosis and fractures, we analysed bone mineral density in relation to the biochemical markers of bone turnover, calcium homeostasis and the COL1A1 genotype in a group of premenopausal women with Type I (insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus (n = 31), Type II (non-insulin dependent) diabetes mellitus (n = 21) and control subjects (n = 20). Bone mineral density was lower at the femoral neck in the subjects with Type I diabetes (p = 0.08) as were serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D compared with control subjects (p = 0.023) and this was negatively correlated with serum collagen type 1 C-terminal propeptide (r = -0.56, p < 0.001). Bone mineral density in Type II diabetes was not different from control subjects, after correction for body mass index. Bone resorption was, however, raised in the Type II diabetic subjects as reflected by the higher urinary deoxypyridinoline values (p = 0.016) and lower collagen type 1 C-terminal propeptide:deoxypyridinoline ratio (p = 0.04). In the whole group studied, subjects with the COL1A1 's' genotype had lower bone mineral density at the femoral neck (p = 0.01) which was partly attributable to a lower body mass index. Following multiple regression analysis body mass index and collagen type 1 C-terminal propeptide concentrations remained determinants of bone mass at all three sites, whereas genotype appeared to be a predictor of bone mass at the femoral neck only. We conclude that measurement of these variables could prove useful in firstly identifying those diabetic women at risk of osteoporosis and secondly guiding therapeutic intervention.

Expression of c-kit in Ewing family of tumors: a comparison of different immunohistochemical protocols.

Ewing sarcoma is a small round blue cell tumor with a high incidence of metastasis and poor survival. The tyrosine kinase receptor, c-kit, is a growth factor receptor that is expressed in a variety of tumors including Ewing sarcoma. Blockade of c-kit by imatinib mesylate (Gleevec; Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp, East Hanover, NJ) has been successfully used in the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia and gastrointestinal tumors. Detection of c-kit expression in Ewing sarcoma indicates a possible role of c-kit in tumor progression and a potential use of anti-c-kit therapy in Ewing sarcoma. Ki-67 is a proliferation marker found at all stages of the cell cycle. Expression of c-kit and Ki-67 was studied in 17 patients with Ewing sarcoma. Sections from paraffin-embedded tumor samples were immunostained, using standard immunohistochemical protocols, with c-kit and Ki-67 monoclonal antibodies, polyclonal c-kit antibody without antigen retrieval, and c-kit polyclonal antibody with antigen retrieval. Eleven out of 17 cases (65%) stained with c-kit monoclonal antibody; the staining was diffuse in 6/17 (35%) cases. C-kit expression did not correlate with Ki-67 proliferation rates. Using the polyclonal c-kit-antibody without antigen retrieval methods, c-kit expression was demonstrated in 1/11 (9%) cases. Incorporating antigen retrieval methods, c-kit expression increased to 53%. Concordance between monoclonal antibodies in detecting c-kit expression was observed in 12/17 cases (71%). We conclude that c-kit is variably expressed in Ewing sarcoma, using either monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies. Detection of c-kit expression in Ewing sarcoma improves with the use of antigen retrieval methods.

Loss of p16 and p27 is associated with progression of human gastric cancer.

We performed the immunohistochemical staining for six G1 check point cell cycle proteins to study their expression patterns and roles in the gastric carcinogenesis. We studied 76 cases of paraffin blocks that included the sections of 18 tubular adenomas (TA), 38 early gastric carcinomas (EGC) (20 cases of mucosal type, nine cases of submucosal type with no nodal metastasis, nine cases of submucosal type with nodal metastasis), 20 advanced gastric carcinomas (AGC) (ten cases with no nodal metastasis, ten cases with nodal metastasis). We found that abnormal expression of p16 and p27 increased with the progression of tubular adenomas to advanced gastric cancers. Inverse relationship between pRb and p16 proteins was found in a small portion of the gastric tumors. Expressions of pRb and cdk4 were consistently high in benign and malignant gastric tumors. Expression of cyclin D1 and cyclin E rather decreased with the tumor progression. In conclusion, losses of p16 and p27 seem to play a significant role during the gastric carcinogenesis, and the G1 checkpoint cell cycle proteins such as pRb, cdk4, cyclin D1, and cyclin E variably participate in the gastric carcinogenesis and metastasis by the mechanisms which are yet unknown; thus, further studies need to be performed to elucidate the mechanisms.

Predictive factors of tumor response and prognostic factors of survival during lung cancer chemotherapy.

The aim of this study was (i) to determine predictive factors of a complete response to chemotherapy in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and predictive factors of an objective response in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and (ii) to determine whether prognostic factors are different with regard to treatment response and survival. Ninety-nine patients with SCLC and two hundred and two patients with NSCLC received chemotherapy. The following variables were recorded prior to treatment: tumor, node, metastasis status, performance status, body weight loss, blood leukocyte count, serum sodium, serum albumin, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alkaline phosphatase, serum NSE, serum TPS, and serum CYFRA 21-1. Tumor response was analyzed at the 10th week. Analysis of survival were done using the landmark method. Hazard ratios of the significant prognostic variables of survival were calculated using the Cox's model. Odds ratios of the significant predicting factors of response were calculated by stepwise logistic regression. In SCLC, the significant determinants of poor survival were: lack of complete response (HR: 2.04), weight loss (HR: 1.76), high serum LDH level (HR: 1.64), and high serum TPS level (HR: 2.47). A high serum TPS level was the only factor among those studied able to predict lack of achievement of complete response (OR: 0.39). In NSCLC, significant determinants of poor survival were: no objective response (HR: 2.28), poor performance status (HR: 2.52), presence of metastases (HR: 1.51), and high serum CYFRA 21-1 level (HR: 1.84). On the other hand, a high serum TPS level (OR: 0.50), the presence of metastases (OR: 0.45), and a leukocyte blood count over 10,000/microl (OR: 0.43) were independent determinants for a patient not to achieve an objective response. We concluded that the predictive factors of complete response in SCLC remain to be defined. On the other hand, in NSCLC three variables contribute to the prediction of an objective response. Finally, determinants of survival differ from predictive factors of response.

B-type natriuretic peptide to assess haemodynamic status after cardiac surgery.

BACKGROUND: B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) is the most powerful hormonal marker of left ventricular dysfunction and could be considered as an indicator of ventricular preload. The aim of this prospective study was to compare the respective value of BNP and cardiac filling pressures to assess the response to volume load after cardiac surgery. METHODS: Thirty-seven mechanically ventilated patients suffering from acute circulatory failure immediately after cardiac surgery, and equipped with a pulmonary-artery catheter were included. All haemodynamic measurements were taken before and after volume expansion using 500 ml of 4% modified fluid gelatin. RESULTS: Fifteen patients were volume responders (CI increase>or=15%) and 22 were non-responders. Right atrial pressure, pulmonary-artery occlusion pressure and BNP before volume loading were not significantly different between the responders and non-responders. BNP concentration before volume infusion significantly correlated to preoperative left ventricular ejection fraction, aortic cross-clamping time, serum creatinine, mean pulmonary arterial pressure and intensive care unit duration whereas no correlation was found with pulmonary-artery occlusion pressure or cardiac index. CONCLUSION: BNP level after cardiac surgery was influenced by many perioperative variables, limiting its usefulness as an indicator of cardiac preload or a predictor of volume responsiveness in this population.

Inter-relation between measurement of serum prostatic specific antigen and transrectal ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostatic cancer.

Serum prostatic specific antigen (PSA) and ultrasound-determined prostatic volume (UPV) were measured in 50 patients with histologically proven benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and in 40 patients with histologically proven prostatic cancer of whom 17 had evidence of distant metastases (M1) and 23 did not (M0). A good correlation between log PSA and UPV was demonstrated in the BPH group and rearrangement of the linear regression equation allowed calculation of a single variable--the log PSA corrected to a standard prostate volume for any given individual. A volume-corrected PSA correctly identified all patients with M1 disease and greatly improved but did not eliminate overlap of M0 disease with BPH. Reduction of serum PSA to a single volume-corrected variable will allow the introduction of practical and optimum protocols for the management of patients with prostatic enlargement.

Evidence for decreased circulating apelin beyond heart involvement in uremic cardiomyopathy.

BACKGROUND: Plasma apelin concentration in heart failure has been described in small studies reporting conflicting results. In hemodialysis (HD) patients, apelin decreased more in those with more severe heart involvement. It is unclear if uremia is connected to this reduction irrespective of heart failure. We compared apelin in two cardiomyopathies with different renal function. METHODS: Observational study conducted in 30 adult Caucasian outpatients in class I NYHA not affected by diabetes or ischemic heart, 15 with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and 15 with uremic dilated cardiomyopathy undergoing HD. Plasma apelin, creatinine, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, endothelin, NT proB-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and Doppler echocardiogram were evaluated. RESULTS: Heart involvement was more severe in the DCM patients (lower ejection fraction, greater diastolic volume index, and worse index of myocardial performance). Median value of apelin in HD patients (19.1 pg/ml) was one third of that in DCM patients (58.2 pg/ml) whereas creatinine, NT-proBNP, and C-reactive protein were 11, 80, and 9 times higher respectively in HD than in DCM patients. Median values of endothelin were comparable in both groups. Apelin was not significantly correlated with any variable. CONCLUSION: Uremic status was the determinant for decreased plasma apelin in HD patients regardless of the severity of heart involvement.

Measurement of children's exposure to pesticides: analysis of urinary metabolite levels in a probability-based sample.

The Minnesota Children's Pesticide Exposure Study is a probability-based sample of 102 children 3-13 years old who were monitored for commonly used pesticides. During the summer of 1997, first-morning-void urine samples (1-3 per child) were obtained for 88% of study children and analyzed for metabolites of insecticides and herbicides: carbamates and related compounds (1-NAP), atrazine (AM), malathion (MDA), and chlorpyrifos and related compounds (TCPy). TCPy was present in 93% of the samples, whereas 1-NAP, MDA, and AM were detected in 45%, 37%, and 2% of samples, respectively. Measured intrachild means ranged from 1.4 microg/L for MDA to 9.2 microg/L for TCPy, and there was considerable intrachild variability. For children providing three urine samples, geometric mean TCPy levels were greater than the detection limit in 98% of the samples, and nearly half the children had geometric mean 1-NAP and MDA levels greater than the detection limit. Interchild variability was significantly greater than intrachild variability for 1-NAP (p = 0.0037) and TCPy (p < 0.0001). The four metabolites measured were not correlated within urine samples, and children's metabolite levels did not vary systematically by sex, age, race, household income, or putative household pesticide use. On a log scale, mean TCPy levels were significantly higher in urban than in nonurban children (7.2 vs. 4.7 microg/L; p = 0.036). Weighted population mean concentrations were 3.9 [standard error (SE) = 0.7; 95% confidence interval (CI), 2.5, 5.3] microg/L for 1-NAP, 1.7 (SE = 0.3; 95% CI, 1.1, 2.3) microg/L for MDA, and 9.6 (SE = 0.9; 95% CI, 7.8, 11) microg/L for TCPy. The weighted population results estimate the overall mean and variability of metabolite levels for more than 84,000 children in the census tracts sampled. Levels of 1-NAP were lower than reported adult reference range concentrations, whereas TCPy concentrations were substantially higher. Concentrations of MDA were detected more frequently and found at higher levels in children than in a recent nonprobability-based sample of adults. Overall, Minnesota children's TCPy and MDA levels were higher than in recent population-based studies of adults in the United States, but the relative magnitude of intraindividual variability was similar for adults and children.

The 5-year reproducibility of calcium-related biochemical variables in postmenopausal women.

A total of 19 measured and derived bone-related biochemical variables were determined in 307 postmenopausal volunteers on two occasions, 5 years apart. The plasma variables with the highest coefficients of determination (r2) were plasma globulins, alkaline phosphatase, creatinine and calculated ionized and ultrafiltrable calcium. In the urine, the highest r2 values were in respect of fasting urine calcium excretion corrected for urine sodium, hydroxyproline excretion, and the maximal renal tubular reabsorption of calcium and phosphate (TmCa/GFR and TmP/GFR). The components of variance of TmCa/GFR and TmP/GFR show marked individuality but their methods determination meet the criterion for acceptable analytical goals. We conclude that most of the measured and derived bone-related biochemical variables in fasting plasma and urine are sufficiently reproducible in postmenopausal women to be useful for ranking individuals for a period up to 5 years.

Prediction of 20-year outcome at onset of seropositive rheumatoid arthritis.

OBJECTIVE: With the advent of new and expensive antirheumatic treatments with potentially serious side effects, it would be essential to identify as early as possible those rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who have a poor prognosis. Here study was made of the prognostic value of different markers recorded at the onset of RA. METHODS: At the 20-year follow-up of our prospective study, 66 patients had rheumatoid factor-positive (RF+) RA. At commencement of follow-up (disease duration < 6 months), the prognostic value of 19 demographic, laboratory, clinical and radiographic variables was tested to explain the 20-year Larsen score for peripheral joints and the Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) index using Somers'd for asymmetrical associations. RESULTS: An association was observed between onset blood platelets (0.17), serum IgG (0.18), the onset Larsen score (0.33) and the 20-year Larsen score. Old age (0.30), serum orosomucoid (0.17), the function score (0.28), morning stiffness (0.28), and grip strength (0.24) were associated with the 20-year HAQ. CONCLUSION: The correlation between the investigated entry variables and end-point outcome was poor. In our discussion we conclude that the most important prognostic factor in RF + RA is the treatment.

Serum level of angiogenin in breast cancer.

OBJECTIVE: Angiogenin (ANG), a potent inducer of neovascularization, is secreted by some types of human tumor cells and appears crucial for their growth. This study was designed with the aim to investigate any correlation between the serum angiogenin and the clinicopathological variables and furthermore evaluate the prognostic value of serum angiogenin in patients with breast cancer. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Sixty-four consecutive patients with invasive breast cancer undergoing surgery were prospectively included and evaluated. Venous blood samples were collected before surgery. Sera were obtained by centrifugation and stored at -70 degrees C until assayed. The control group consisted of 16 patients with benign breast tumor (8 with fibrocystic disease and 8 with fibroadenoma). Serum concentration of angiogenin was measured by the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The data on primary tumor staging, age, estrogen receptor, lymph node status, distant metastases and TNM staging were reviewed and recorded. RESULTS: The mean value of serum angiogenin in patients with invasive breast cancer was 2123.95 +/- 324.34 pg/ml and that of control group were 2108.16 +/- 398.20 pg/ml (fibrocystic disease) and 2010.27 +/- 318.40 pg/ml (fibroadenoma). The difference was not significant (p = 0.66). Furthermore, with univariate analysis, there were no significant differences in serum angiogenin levels between the subgroups of the above-mentioned clinicopathological variables. CONCLUSION: Serum angiogenin levels did not appear as a meaningful prognostic parameter for invasive breast cancer.
