[Literature and schizophrenia. Research trends and research tasks].

Research on schizophrenia and on the psychopathology of creativity is increasingly absorbing and transforming insights from literature (Büchner, Celan, Kafka, Proust) and literary aesthetics. This development is discussed against the background of the history of psychiatric research. Regarding contemporary research trends, special emphasis is placed on communication theory as presented by the Palo Alto group (double bind theory), anti-psychiatry (Cooper, Laing), French structuralism (Foucault, Lacan), and on schizoanalysis (Deleuze and Guattari). Traditional concepts of mental health and illness are called into question.

History, 19th Century

Research trends in the field of speech and hearing.

Topics of research in the field of speech and hearing were identified and compared over a 21-yr period (1954--1974). These topics were identidied by a key-word analysis of approximately 8200 titles consisting of articles in national and international journals, and of theses and dissertations presented in the state of Ohio. Results of this analysis have pinpointed certain research trends in the field of speech and hearing. Attention to certain topics has either declined, increased, or reached a peak during the 21-yr period, while interest in some topics has been consistently maintained throughout the years. The information reported provides a perspective from which to view contributions made by researchers in the field of speech and during the last two decades.

[Computed cluster analysis of citations as a tool in studying structures of research trends].

The method of computer cluster-analysis of citation to determine the structure of a scientific trend is suggested. The map of the current status of research in neurobiology of aging as one of the most promising research areas in gerontology is under consideration. The possibilities and perspectives of this method as a tool of science-of-science research in medicine are analyzed.

Molecular Diagnostics for WHO Priority Bacterial Pathogens: A Bibliometric Mapping of Diagnostic Platforms, Resistance Markers, and Antimicrobial Resistance Research Trends.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) constrains effective treatment and carries implications for infection control, surveillance, and public health. The World Health Organization (WHO) priority bacterial pathogen framework has intensified the need for diagnostic innovation by redefining research priorities around organisms combining high disease burden with complex resistance profiles. Molecular diagnostics have accordingly moved beyond culture-based workflows, integrating rapid pathogen identification, resistance-marker detection, genomic surveillance, and clinical decision support. The present study conducted a bibliometric mapping of the literature on WHO priority pathogens. Rather than addressing resistance at a general level or a single pathogen or technology, it integrates priority pathogens, molecular platforms, and resistance markers within a single framework, tracing their joint thematic and temporal evolution along an explicit pathogen-platform-marker axis. Scopus-indexed articles and reviews (2000-2025) were retrieved, yielding 1746 publications after screening adapted from the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Analyses used Bibliometrix/Biblioshiny, R, and VOSviewer. The literature expanded markedly after 2018, led by China and the United States. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Enterococcus faecium, and the Enterobacterales-carbapenemase axis constituted the principal thematic cores, whereas conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR)/nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT) and whole-genome sequencing were the dominant platforms. Overall, the field has evolved from pathogen detection into an AMR-centered translational domain encompassing resistance prediction, genomic epidemiology, surveillance, and clinical decision support. Diagnostic development, stewardship, and surveillance depend on hybrid workflows coupling rapid marker-targeted assays with genome-based characterization, delivering actionable resistance within clinically meaningful timeframes, and extending coverage to underrepresented pathogens and platforms.

Research trends in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Titles and abstracts of the 700 papers presented in the scientific sessions of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from 1972 to 1976 were reviewed. There were 81 papers in 1972, 123 in 1973, 131 in 1974, 158 in 1975 and 207 in 1976. Two hundred thirty-seven (34%) of the papers were presented by 11 Research and Training Centers and 463 papers (66%) were presented by other institutions. One hundred fifteen papers were related to spinal cord injury, 84 to electromyography, 57 to stroke, 51 to muscle histology, physiology and chemistry, 49 to orthotics and 43 to urologic problems. Only six papers were related to cerebral palsy, only one to myelodysplasia, 4 to burns, 8 to cancer, 13 to human sexuality and 10 to prosthetics. It is believed that appropriate funding of research and an emphasis on the neglected subjects through seminars and courses may provoke the curiosity of the research and encourage him to do research in important areas other than the few which are currently most popular.

Man's strategy in domestication - a synthesis of new research trends.

The minimum brain size possible in the relevant wild species and certain colour types which, because of alterations in the neurotransmitter system caused by the respective colour genes, are related to behavioural traits diverging from the wild animals norm appear to be first-rate bases for domestication either separately or in combination.
