[Acridonacetic acid: pharmacological properties and clinical use].

The summarized data on the biological activity of acridoneacetic acid, a low-molecular interferon inducer are presented: the amount and type of induced interferon, producer cells, interaction with viruses; the antiviral, antitumoral and anti-inflammatory activity of the preparation has been demonstrated. The specific features of interferon induction by virus (a biological inducer), in contrast to acridoneacetic acid (a chemical inducer) have been noted. The possible mechanisms of interferon induction by low-molecular interferonogen are considered. A number of interferonogens, salts of acridoneacetic acid, proposed as medicinal preparations are considered. The results of the clinical use of Cycloferon, a medicinal form of acridoneacetic acid, are presented.

[Correction of free radical processes by a succinic acid drug (reamberine) in intensive care of patients with acute neurotropic poisoning].

Sixty-six patients with acute poisonings with neurotropic toxins (soporiphics, neuroleptics, antidepressants, ethanol and its surrogates) were examined and treated. Clinical data and correction of disorders in free-radical processes in acute poisonings with these toxins indicate the efficiency of adding reamberine to combined therapy of this patient population.

[Cycloferon in treating duodenal ulcers in rats].

The possibility of using cycloferon (interferon inductor) for a complex treatment (in combination with the main drug solcoseryl possessing pronounced therapeutic properties) of duodenum ulcers was experimentally studied in male rats. The experiments showed a considerable difference in the interferon status of animals with model duodenum ulcers treated with cycloferon, solcoseryl, their combination, and placebo (control). The healing effect of solcoseryl administered in combination with cycloferon exceeded that of each component administered separately.

[Use of cytoflavin for correction of complications of myocardial infarction].

The possibility of using a combined preparation cytoflavine was studied on rats with myocardial infarction induced by coronary artery occlusion. The drug produces a positive action upon the energy exchange and the lipid peroxidation process and normalizes functioning of the system of antioxidant protection of the ischemized myocardium. Cytoflavine treatment led to a more favorable course of ischemic and necrotic processes and optimum organization of the necrosis zones.

[Neuroprotective effect of cytoflavin in closed craniocerebral trauma].

The efficacy of a complex preparation cytoflavin was studied on rats with a model of closed craniocerebral trauma. Cytoflavin produced normalization of the energy exchange, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant system functioning in nervous tissues. The treatment significantly reduced the degree of posttraumatic edemation in the brain. The cerebroprotective action of cytoflavin was somewhat superior to the effect of the reference drug solcoseryl.

[Antiamnesic effect of cytoflavin and neuronol in rats with ischemic impairment of cerebral circulation].

The antiamnesic action of the new complex preparations cytoflavin and neuronol was studied in rats with a cerebral ischemia model, tested for the passive avoidance conditioned reflex. The neuroprotector effect of drugs was determined by morphological methods. Both cytoflavin and neuronol reduced neuronal damage in the pyramidal layer of the hippocampus and prevented the development of amnesia during the entire period of cerebral ischemia (3-21 days). Both drugs also improved horizontal locomotor activity and emotional reactions of animals in the open field test.

[Cycloferon--a new domestic preparation for the prophylaxis of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections].

The results of the placebo-controlled multicenter study of the epidemiological efficiency of the preparation Cycloferon for the prophylaxis of acute respiratory viral infections in children and adolescents are presented. A total of 16,000 children and adolescents were selected for the study. The epidemiological efficiency of the preparation manifested in 1.5- 2.9-fold decreased morbidity level with a protection index equal to 41 - 90%, was demonstrated.
