[HLA antigens in persons with a predisposition to frequent sympathetic-adrenal paroxysms].

Comparison of the rate of HLA antigens I in 81 patients with frequently occurring sympathoadrenal paroxysms (SAP) associated with vegetovascular dystonia and 113 healthy subjects revealed the increase of the number of antigen B12 carriers among the patients as compared to the healthy subjects' group. The number of antigens A9, B35 in SAP patients was elevated whereas that of B18, B38 and B40 decreased. SAP related to age-associated hormonal rearrangements were marked by antigens Cw4 and A1, the grave SAP patterns by B12, SAP without nocturnal paroxysms and the early disease onset by the lack of antigen A19. The dominant gene that determines the onset of SAP is localizes in the HLA area. It may be associated with a hypothetical gene analogous to the locus implicated in the determination of the threshold of neuromuscular excitability of rats. It is not excluded that such a relationship is mediated via the blood content of Mg2+.

Adrenal Gland Diseases

[The genetic aspects in the genesis of autonomic crises (panic attacks)].

In 30 patients with vegetative crises (VC) (the structure of the crises met DSM-III criteria for panic attacks), the typing of histocompatibility (HLA) antigens was carried out. Antigen HLA-Cw6 was found in 53% of the patients (in 10% in controls [pc < 0.01]). The relative risk of VC in persons having antigen Cw6 is 10.3. The data obtained allow regarding antigen HLA-Cw6 as of potential genetic markers of VC.

Adult

[Nature of the reaction of the immunocompetent cells in children with nephrotic syndrome and in their parents with different HLA phenotypes].

The purpose of the study was to analyze the character of the expression of the blood lymphocyte epitopes SD4, SD8 (EBLE SD4, SD8) in a series of the loading in-vitro tests in children suffering from the nephrotic syndrome, with different HLA haplotypes. Nine children with the hormone-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (HSNS) and hormone-resistant nephrotic syndrome (HRNS) and 11 parents were examined. Before and after the in-vitro loading with medicamentous agents EBLE SD4, SD8 were determined by flow cytofluorometry, while HLA antigens were tested by the standard micro-lymphocytotoxic method. The studies allowed revealing differences in the responses of EBLE SD8 to the in-vitro loading in children with the HRNS and HSNS. The character of EBLE SD4, SD8 in a child with the NS and its parents may attest to the involvement of those antigens in the pathogenetic component of the given disease.

Adolescent

[Histocompatibility antigens in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients].

A study of HLA antigens in 55 patients with lateral amyotrophic sclerosis yielded the results which suggest that the risk of the development of lateral amyotrophic sclerosis is associated with HLA B18 antigen, while the character of the disease progression is related to HLA B27 and BW35 antigens. The patients displayed a decreased incidence of HLA B8 and B7 antigens.

Adult

[The role of the population gene pool in meningococcal infection morbidity].

The character of the distribution of HLA antigens in patients with meningococcal infection among Russians and Touvinians was revealed. The markers of susceptibility to meningococcal infection were detected in each national group. These markers were HLA-Bw22 in Touvinians. The gene of susceptibility to meningococcal infection occurred among Touvinians 2.3 times more frequently. This was probably the cause of a higher morbidity rate in meningococcal infection among Touvinians than among Russians.
