[Clinico-arthroscopic analysis of the synovial plica of the knee].

In order to evaluate frequency of synovial plica and diagnosis of synovial plica syndrome 200 knees were analysed clinically and arthroscopically. In 79 (39%) knees synovial plica was the only finding or together with damages of other structures of the knee. As the isolated finding and the cause of plica syndrome, the mediopatellar plica was diagnosed in 16 (8%) patients. The crossed mediopatellar plica was found in 6 patients and in 1 patient it was the cause of plica syndrome. In four patients the infrapatellar plica was in the form of the complete septum.

[Surgical treatment of recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation using the Bazy-Savić method. 40 years' experience].

The fourty-year experience in the treatment of 328 patients with recurrent anterior shoulder dislocations using the Bazy-Savić method has been presented. Reintervention due to recurrent dislocation was performed in 12 (3.6%) patients. During a ten-year period questionnaires were sent to 105 operated patients and 76 patients replied. Satisfactory results were achieved in 69 (90.7%) patients.

[The significance of arthroscopy in the diagnosis of acute knee injuries].

Acute knee injuries were arthroscopically diagnosed in 32 patients from July 1988, to November 1989. Aiming to compare diagnostic reliability, knees were clinically examined before and after anesthesia had been induced, and arthroscopically. Arthroscopy revealed that ligaments were the most frequently injured. These injuries were diagnosed as dominant ones in 26 (79%) cases. Correct diagnosis was made in 10 (30%) injured, and by examination under anesthesia in 18 (55%) ones.

Acute Disease↗

[Pseudoblock of the knee. Clinical arthroscopic analysis].

The clinical and arthroscopic analysis of 70 patients with knee blockade are presented. In 50 (71.5%) patients the blockade was mechanical caused by the meniscal lesion and free articular body. In the rest of 20 (28.5%) patients, knee blockade of various pathology was in question. The results obtained have shown that every fourth patient with knee blockade is not indicated for arthrotomy.

Adolescent↗

[Fractures of the distal end of the tibia in adolescents ("transitional fractures")].

Presented are experiences in the treatment of 6 adolescents with fractures of the distal tibial portion. Treatment was conservative in 4 cases and operative reposition and fixation was performed in 2 cases. Functional and anatomic results were excellent in all 6 patients. This type of fractures in adolescents is not known enough.

Child↗

[Surgical treatment of congenital atresia of the ear canal].

Diagnostics and original operative technique of ear canal abnormalities as well as results in the treatment of 23 patients have been presented. In 5 patients with congenital ear canal stenosis conventional surgical ear canal dilatation was satisfactory and out of 18 patients with atresia in 16 of them described operation was successful. Obliteration reoccurred in 2 cases.
