[The new potentials of magneto-laser therapy and electrostimulation in children with cleft palate and upper lip].

The paper presents rationale for design of new procedures of physiotherapy in children with expanded palate and upper lip; morphofunctional features of prenatal and early postnatal formation of central nervous system; a multilayer technique of magneto-laser radiation to the projection of the anterior central gyrus and the technique of electrostimulation by the system of the wink reflex which can influence central mechanisms of regulation and adaptation before and early after uranoplasty and cheiloplasty.

[Photophoresis of methyluracil ointment in the complex treatment of temporomandibular pain syndrome].

The authors recommend to expand laser radiation zones, i.e. to expose to infra-red laser radiation not only the trigger points and the temporomandibular joint but also paravertebral area, in the treatment of patients with temporomandibular painful dysfunctional syndrome (TMPDS). Experimental and clinical data have shown that photophoresis of 10% methyluracilic onitment is more effective than laser therapy in mild and moderate TMPDS.

[EHF-therapy of herpetic keratouveitis].

A device BIK for active suppression of infection has been used against Herpes virus infection type 1 and 2 in 72 patients with keratouveitis. The immunological and genotypic monitoring show that patients with herpetic keratouveitis after BIK treatment have lower titers of antiherpetic antibodies, normal cellular and humoral immunity, weaker viremia and reduced quantity of viral material in corneal tissue. This positive effect persisted for 8-12 months. Thus, BIK device provides a definite, prolonged and stable therapeutic effect in patients with herpetic keratouveitis.

[An experiment with Chlamydomonas reinhardtii on the Kosmos-2044 biosatellite].

Space experiment with Chlamydomonas reinhardtii demonstrated that the microgravity effects were noted in Chlamydomonas at both cellular and population levels: in space the cell size is increased, stage of active growth of the culture is extended, it contains the juvenile vegetative motile cells in greater quantities. Ultrastructural analysis indicated that in microgravity the changes in shape, structure and distribution of intracellular organelles and in volume ratio of organelles and cytoplasma are absent. Chlamydomonas data are in line with the results of the Infusoria and Chlorella experiments.

[Ultrasonic frequency currents and laser radiation in combined treatment of glaucoma].

A total of 178 patients aged 53 to 78 years with advanced and progressive primary open angle glaucoma have undergone a hypotensive operation. It is shown that it is beneficial for the patients to combine medication with ultratonotherapy of eyelid region for restoration of hydro- and hemodynamics in the operated eye; to give an impact on the projection of the cortical sight centers for activation of trophic and neuroregulatory mechanisms of visual functions. Such a combined approach improves the course of the postoperative period and prolongs remission in glaucomatous atrophy of the visual nerve.

[The food-acquisition behavior of rats under conditions of the chronic activation and blockade of the neostriatal dopaminergic system].

Effects of three-week daily intrastriatal amphetamine (15 and 45 mcg) and haloperidol (5 mcg) microinjections were studied in rats in a Skinners's box. Enhancement of motor activity, stereotype movements, increase of rate of lever pressings were recorded at the background of amphetamine microinjections in a dose of 45 mcg. In animals with initially low level of conditioning dopaminergic striatal stimulation qualitatively changed behavioural strategy, which promoted the stable long-term activation of instrumental conditioning. Amphetamine in a dose of 15 mcg was ineffective. Haloperidol had the opposite effects, i. e., it impaired conditioned alimentary behaviour and induced parkinsonian-like akinetic status. The findings suggest an involvement of dopaminergic neostriatal system in conditioned food-procuring behavioural strategy.
