[An approach to decreasing the dose load in prophylactic X-ray examination].

The concept of small radiation dose is uncertain. Usually, doses below 300 mSv are considered as small. In this work, a mathematical approach is used to consider changes in peripheral blood count caused by exposure to an effective dose below 1 mSv. The ACS-ENOFIT device is used to assess the efficiency of treatment of a number of diseases. The results obtained in this work show that an analytical method should be used for determination of the dose value and monitoring of changes in the systems of human body.

[Use of ACS-ENOFIT system for mass-scale examinations].

Typical procedures for introduction of the ACS-ENOFIT system into use in medical institutions are considered. The ACS-ENOFIT system can be used for health status monitoring on the basis of analysis of standard peripheral blood count.

[Dependence of the sensitivity of combined intensifying film-screens on the voltage in X-ray tubes].

The computed and experimental dependencies of the luminescence intensity of intensifying screens, their gain and the sensitivity of the screen-film combinations versus the X-ray tube voltage age compared. The computed data are in good agreement with the experimental results. The data make it possible to account for the hardness in the plots of efficiency for various intensifying screens, when roentgenograms are produced under manual and automated control.

[Stabilization of the energy component of the radiation from diagnostic x-ray tubes].

A variation of X-ray energy spectrum has been experimentally studied in operating conditions. The filtration on the irregular sites of a destroyed target has been shown to cause a growth in effective radiant energy. A possibility to stabilize the spectrum by reducing a thickness of an additional filter is discussed. The relationship between the thickness of the equivalent aluminium filter and a value of X-ray tube ageing is given, the error of the spectrum stabilization being 5%.

[Effect of the x-ray tube anode current on the intensity and energy spectrum of the radiation].

Operating modes of the X-ray equipment that determine the energy spectrum of the X-radiation have been experimentally studied. Based on the spectrum analysis performed with a multichannel analyzer and a computer the quantitative relations are derived demonstrating the impact of the current and voltage waveform upon the effective radiation energy for several types of X-ray devices. The correlation tables of the X-ray equipment voltage for various rectification circuits are presented.
