We report a case of perirenal urinoma secondary to benign prostatic hypertrophy. This rare complication of bladder outlet obstruction was due to subsequent hydronephrosis and increased pressure in the renal cavities, leading to rupture of caliceal fornix and allowing perirenal extravasation of urine. Complete resolution of the urinoma was obtained with bladder decompression and conservative management.
Two cases of pelvic hematoma following prostatic biopsy and prostatic massage are reported. They are rare complications of very common urological acts. The diagnosis, treatment and prevention of these complications are discussed.

A murine renal cell carcinoma model, the RC tumor, was pharmacologically and histologically characterized and was used for the evaluation of 20 chemotherapeutic agents. This model, when implanted IP or SC showed reproducible behavior and was found to be very sensitive to many drugs with different mechanisms of action, and particularly to alkylating agents. The IP-implanted tumor was sensitive to some clinically active drugs which were reported inactive against L1210 or P388 murine leukemias. The highest sensitivity of this model than of L1210 and P388 leukemias makes the RC tumor a good prescreening system for testing potential chemotherapeutic agents.

Three cases of inverted urothelial papilloma are reported. In one case this lesion, commonly considered as benign, was associated with a transitional cell carcinoma. In an other case inverted papilloma presented histological features of a malignant tumor. The possibility of common etiologic factors of inverted papilloma and other urothelial tumors, explaining their association, is discussed. Considering these results, patients with inverted papilloma must be carefully followed in the same way as patients with low grade urothelial tumors.
There exist rare cases in which a prostatic carcinoma invades the perirectal space producing an extrinsic rectal stenosis. Three cases are discussed. Differential diagnosis with a rectal tumor is difficult clinically, but deep rectal biopsies will provide the correct diagnosis in many cases. Estrogen therapy is recommended, but prognosis is reserved.
In a study of the effect of vindesine (VDS) against metastases of murine tumours in vivo, we demonstrated that VDS produced an anti-metastatic effect on tumours with invasive properties, such as Lewis lung carcinoma or Madison 109 lung carcinoma, while no effect was observed against lymph node metastases of the subcutaneously implanted P388 tumour model. Local systemic mechanisms favouring or opposing the phenomena of invasion, dissemination, and establishment of secondary malignancies may explain the differences between the various models. Although our data did not allow us to conclude that VDS has specific anti-invasive properties in vivo, its inhibitory effect against secondary tumour growth agrees with the assumption that invasion is an important step in the establishment of metastases.
A rare case of retroperitoneal fibrosis after rectal perforation during a barium enema is reported. Pelvic cellulitis due to infiltration of barium and fecal matter is a serious complication and needs an energetic treatment. Urologic complications appear later and result from the formation of a foreign body granuloma.
