Among 128 patients with glaucoma, 19 underwent a revision of a goniotrepanation with scleral flap. Adequate regulation of IOP was achieved in this way, in some cases with additional medication. This revision of the filtering bleb can be recommended as the operation of choice for all forms of glaucoma in which goniotrepanation with scleral flap was performed and in which pressure could not be regulated with additional medication.
Implantation of an artificial lens after extracapsular cataract extraction with perforation of the anterior and posterior lens capsules is only possible under special circumstances. In only one out of 5 cases could a posterior chamber lens be implanted. This kind of injury can easily lead to a vitreous-lens mixture in the anterior chamber, which then has to be removed by a vitrector. In the cases described here the unilateral aphakia was corrected with a contact lens. In order to prevent future complications neither an anterior chamber lens nor an iris clip lens were implanted.
With sufficient clinical experience, there is a high probability of discovering a malignant melanoma by means of high-resolution computerized tomography. Therefore, computerized tomography can be considered as a precious addition to the existing examination methods.

In the study reported here it was demonstrated that with computerized tomography (CT) it is possible to find metallic foreign bodies in the orbit (especially within the eyeball) and to locate them accurately. Moreover, with CT the risks both of intraocular infection and explusive hemorrhage in perforating eye injuries prior to initial surgical treatment are reduced. Further loss of aqueous humor and additional damage to intraocular tissue are also avoided.
Using the Roberts and Koester wide field specular microscope 42 eyes with cataract were examined before and after implantation of Simcoe posterior chamber lenses. A 9.7% loss of endothelial cells was found postoperatively.
This report deals with a 47-year-old patient showing the beginning of a malignant histiocytosis in both eyelids and the orbit. The histology of the tumor confirmed a malignant histiocytosis, which generalized in a systemic, progressive, invasive proliferation of atypical histiocytes. The patient died 3 years after the beginning of the disease.
This paper discusses the clinical application of a simplified irrigation-aspiration system for extracapsular cataract extraction. This simplified apparatus represents a reasonably-priced alternative to the existing expensive and complicated systems. When the surgeon has gained sufficient practice in the use of this method it is a useful complement to the expensive electronic systems.

Report on a patient with choroidal folds in one eye. The cause could not be established. The combination of echography and computerized tomography proved extremely useful in ruling out a neoplasm. The characteristic fluorescein angiographic pattern differentiates choroidal from retinal folds. Etiologic and therapeutic considerations mentioned in literature are discussed. However modern diagnostic methods do not obviate the need for careful long-term follow-up of clinical condition.
