St. John Health integrating new corporate identity, brand. Brand/logo to be rolled out over two-year period.

St. John Health, Warren, Mich., is integrating a new corporate identity and brand strategy for its network of nine wholly-owned and two affiliated hospital, along with more than 100 physician offices and specialty centers in southeast Michigan. "A new identity is a great rallying cry. It automatically says. 'We have a new mission. We have a new system. We are reaching new people,'" said Eunice O'Loughlan, VP, corporate communications for St. John Health.

This comprehensive Web site, www.methodisthealth.com, is taking on a new look with the beginning of the new year. It's still loaded with information that's easily accessed in both English and Spanish.

John C. Lincoln Health Network recognized for community service. Phoenix institution wins prestigious Foster G. Mcgaw Prize.

John C. Lincoln Health Network, Phoenix, was awarded the Foster G. McGaw Prize for excellence in community service, one of the healthcare field's most prestigious honors. The network serves a broad geographic area and nearly a dozen communities. Those communities most challenged by poverty, hunger, poor housing and crime are the focus of most of the health network's efforts.

Gila Regional Medical Center doubles as art gallery. Open house marks southwestern New Mexico hospital's expansion.

Gila Regional Medical Center, Silver City, N.M., is home to a unique kind of art gallery. Though the small town boasts 30 art galleries, one more was added when the newly expanded and renovated hospital opened its doors to the public in February. More than 100 pieces of loaned art estimated to be worth more than $12,000 are on exhibit, in an effort to create a more healing atmosphere for the hospital.

User friendly web site a winner. San Diego's Sharp HealthCare provides wealth of information.

The Sharp HealthCare, San Diego, web site, a winner of the 2002 Medicine on the Net Web Excellence Award, provides a wealth of information without wasting space or confusing the visitor. The web site, www.sharp.com, can be viewed in both English and Spanish, a valuable consideration for those living in the California-Mexico border area served by Sharp. The integrated health network operates seven hospitals and three medical group practices. It has 2,541 physicians on medical staffs and more than 11,000 employees.

Baptist Hospital East conducts successful target marketing.

A targeted marketing program at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville, Ky., has worked successfully to strengthen the hospital's relationships with the employers and employees in the hospital's marketing area. Also, the program strengthens Baptist East's BaptistWorx occupational medicine program and complements the hospital's traditional advertising.

Hospital's attention to patient care gains it significant recognition.

Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale, Calif., has received numerous awards for its Hearts N' Health program and "Healthy Families" Armenian cable access television program. Hearts N' Health is a health outreach program promoting cardiac fitness and other health issues in the Armenian community.

Medical City first hospital to fully sponsor Dallas Habitat project.

Medical City Dallas Hospital became the first Dallas hospital to partner with the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity to fully sponsor and construct a new home for purchase by a deserving low-income family. Medical City employees raised $65,000 for materials and donated approximately 2,500 hours, working side-by-side with Jose and Blanca Espinal over 12 consecutive Saturdays to build their future home.
